Don't get stuck on Intel. AMD has some great processors at really good prices. Esp. if you're building a gamer. Of course, if you're building a gamer, make sure you splurge a little on the graphics card. That Sapphire card is pretty good for the money though.
For rendering an i7 is what you'd want. Has hyperthreading (basically the computer thinks it has twice as many cores as it really does) my laptop does this. So when I open up task manager it has 8 CPU monitors instead of just four. This is great for rendering.
True, but when I upgraded my first Mac Quadra 840AV I bought 16MB (yep MB) of RAM for $495 so even these newer prices seem reasonable to me.
Processors are a pretty decent deal, but I wouldn't really be interested in anything else.
The motherboards and power supply are beyond overkill for a "cheap" computer.
I surprised no Sennheiser's made the list.

Can confirm, even with 2-3yr warranties wherever available, you save about $500 building this machine through newegg (so...is that fancy case worth $500? Not to me).
If I can use the Steam Controllers on my PC, I don't see a reason to get a steam machine
Holy shit, you could buy an aircraft carrier for $20 million?? I mean, that's a lot of money, but I expected it to cost more than, say, a nice house in the Bay area.
It's actually very common among aircraft carriers that don't have a catapult launch system. So pretty much everything not American or French, though the British are building a new class of carriers without it.
I just wanted to play the game with the graphics turned up. Now this shit is looking too real.
Give me a ping, Vasily. One ping only, please.
"Come at me bro" - Chinese ship
Oh what the heck? I don't feel very zen, today.
While some people think China's cooking something up, I don't think an aircraft carrier is a big deal at all.
I have a feeling I've seen this show before.
Wow, if a cruiser following them annoys them this much, just imagine what kind of pants-wetting fit they will throw when they realize that a US Sub has been following them for weeks.....
