The Atrix was the first dual-core phone in America, so it was relatively important. I have no doubt Apple's intent to move the technology, I simply have doubts about the concept and technology as a whole.

They're the perfect laptop for the majority of people. Fast, virus-free browser-runners.
Just because they say that the scans never leave your device doesn't actually mean they never leave your device.
It's no guarantee that Apple will stick with it for awhile. Motorola obviously discontinued it because it's unreliable, but there's no guarantee that Apple will continue supporting it. Not everything Apple makes is a hit, and people seem to forget that.
The 64-bit CPU is something inevitable. If Apple didn't do it, Google would've. I'd bet that the Android 5.0 update has been taking so long because of 64-bit architecture.
Even though you sound like an elitist asshole, I'm partially inclined to agree. If you buy a gold iPhone, you're automatically an asshole.
Obviously, but the Atrix wasn't some half-assed attempt to just slap a fingerprint reader on a phone. I'm sure that the technology will improve under Apple, but it's not a very useful or reliable technology in the first place.
The best part of the new 'budget' iPhone is the fact that it costs twice as much as the Nexus 4.
I don't. But based on what has been released, it's not some new, super reliable technology. Fingerprint scanner is not an accurate technology in general. I've had to use fingerprint scanners worth thousands on a regular basis. It is not an inherently reliable technology.
Not really recent, the fingerprint scanner was around since 2.2. Which is basically equivalent to iPhone OS 3 or iOS 4, chronologically. So that's pretty damn old tech.
It wasn't a recent addition, the Atrix came out over 2 years ago.
My OG Motorola Atrix had a fingerprint scanner...
There are things under 2048-bit? Well...
On my Nexus 4 at least, the face verification requires you to blink.
I really wish they would keep the sub 5-inch form factor. It's not the physical size of the phone that puts me off, but the size of the screen itself. Although the GS4 is the same size as the GS3, the large screen is unusable. My hands aren't growing any time soon.
The only thing I'd like from TouchWiz is the S Pen support. Everything else can go in the trash. AOSP(A) until I die.
Yes. It's an ugly piece of history, but it's a reminder of tyranny and what modern civilization fights against. We shouldn't forget something just because it's terrible.
Forcing slaves to fight each other to the death, feeding people to animals, brutal murder of exotic animals and public executions? Not much better than Auschwitz.
And you speak from a position where you don't have a lot of background knowledge? It's a general attitude.
What's so different between my opinions and those of an American who doesn't like how America's plundering tendencies? That's really what I see in my origin. I'm not necessarily proud of it, but that's what it is.
