I think a better questions is: When do cars go fast enough that human reaction times are insufficient to control them in anything but a straight drag?

I would say get the big warranty. However, if you plan to get an ECU tune, don't bother. 

I could also be biased by exposure to the Dodge Intrepid. Pretty sure 50% of them rolled out in that color, but not for long.

I’m going in tomorrow for the 40k dsg service. It’s been regular oil changes at 10k and one cabin air filter besides that. Don’t let the dealer charge you to replace the cabin air filter, btw, it’s silly easy. And that filter actually works, so it’ll start to smell a little funky if you don’t replace after 25k or 2…
