Cant' call it carbon Neutral when you are burning Coal/Gas to create the electricity used in the process. And the process is also going to cost more energy because it takes more energy to create the fuel than what energy the fuel can theoretically provide (Take electrolysis for Hydrogen for example).

Hydrogen is completely different from petrol in one major point. The internal combustion engine is just not as efficient as the experimental Fuel Cells already are. They are still under development and are even theoretically more efficient that the ICE.

Yes Gas has the ability to sit in storage. But instead of continuing on that fuel, I would like to see the infrastructure developed that allows for quick charging. And instead of developing an inefficient method to create this fuel using the electricity from other fuel (coal/gas). Why not use the electricity directly.…
