It would be a total bust. Too tiny and not highway compliant.

Is it compromised if it comfortably does the job asked of it? The X6 is a decently roomy vehicle, not a penalty box. I get what you're saying but the X6 is not the sacrifice people make it out to be.

Oh, I’m familiar with the amount of stuff a family needs, which is why I’ve been saying the X6 meets that requirement comfortably for many families. Michael confirms that too. Seating gets easier when you switch from rear facing to front facing child seats in the later years.

RAM has always made a good looking truck. They just suck at everything else.

..And another fallacy is the idea that the car has a massive footprint for meager space. Do the math and that argument falls flat on its face. It is not as good as a traditional crossover but it is a hell of a lot better than most sedans, hatchbacks and even some station wagons. It’s not the first car that would come

That is a convenient change of tune - Your posts say different. Secondly BMW is not billing the X6 as a family vehicle, and neither is Michael trying to promote it as the ideal one. He is just observing that it works very well for his one child family. You have made the error of assuming that the slanted roof severely

If you think the X6 is bad for space efficiency, wait till you compare the Bentley Continental to the GTI. Total rip-off!

Maybe because it is practical enough and doesn’t need to be even more practical?

Safe. But legal??

Something did not sit quite right with that trunk space comparison. You claim that a Golf GTI’s trunk space is tiny at 22.8 cu ft. Guess how much trunk space a Mercedes S Class has - 18.7 cu ft. BMW 5 Series? 14.5 cu ft. So is an X6 lacking in cargo volume if it can out-carry large luxury sedans? Not to mention that

That’s where everyone goes wrong. You are not buying the X6 for maximum load space. The point is it has ENOUGH. You want more, you buy the X5 or X7. Are you going to knock down the Bentyaga because it doesn't have as much space as the far cheaper Ford Explorer?

Edw906's point was that the X6 can  carry more than a GTI, so it is not exactly lacking in utility. Massiveness of the vehicle not really relevant if it carries enough. Just sayin'.

It should then blow your mind why anyone would want a sedan over a station wagon. What probably killed the ZDX was that the rear seats were really unusable. X6 has way.more space.

For the crossover coupe haters, don’t think of the X6 as a compromised X5. Think of it as a way more versatile 5 series. If practicality was so crucial then we should all be buying station wagons, and sedans would make no sense.

CUVs are better than sedans. Change my mind.

It is really hard to roll an SUV over casually these days. That would be one of my least concerns.

I disagree. Crossovers have long ago dropped the pretense of being off roaders. They are tall cars and are better at being cars than sedans. Far more versatile load area, close to their equivalent sedans in mpg these days, easier to get into, better upright seating. Handling is just fine, in fact some drive really

You bought the wrong cuv but it is still way more versatile than the Elantra. That piece of furniture or TV you just bought? Chances are it will fit fine in the CUV but no way in hell for the Elantra. A child seat targets a specific dimension that few small vehicles of any kind will accommodate comfortably.

Throttle House precognitively answered your question yesterday. It doesn't matter what you don't want. It's what you need.

Mustang is the only car you need. You can buy six Mustangs for those.
