Once, in the long ago days of 1997, there was a webzine called Riot Grrl. Or it might have been Riot Grrrl, I can’t quite remember.
We had an assignment to write on a feminist blog in one of my higher level women’s studies classes and as an avid Jezebel reader I obviously selected Jezebel, but my professor told me too many people had selected to write about you guys. I had to write on feministing instead :((((

I think that was part of the point, doing the movements slowly to show control.
