Actually the flu is that big of a deal. 21 kids have died already this season. Also, 6.8% of ALL deaths reported by 122 cities across the US were due to flu. In my city alone, 21 people were admitted to the ICU and are in a critical state due to the flu just in the last week.

It originated in a SCOTUS opinion written by Oliver Wendell Holmes and if I remember correctly it had to do with religious practices that violated US law and the holding was basically that if your religion violated a state or federal law, tough noogies, you had to follow the law.

Do you really get to decide whether your own heart is in the right place? I mean usually it's said by other people. I mean, maybe because it's just acknowledging that the non-heart parts of you were in the wrong place.

I've downloaded it, and think I'll start tomorrow! So looking forward to it!

"we concluded that adult films must remain just that, a product for adults. That's why we decided not to renew Mrs. Laurent-Auger's contract." ...not: 'that's why we decided to talk to the pupils about responsible internet use'? No, good, fine.

Also: I'm not good at getting coffee:(

Some constructive criticism, thehunchbackofnotredwayne, since I see you are interested in pursuing a path in sexist trolling: you need to commit (I would suggest you fact-check, too, put that's probably beyond you — Maddie is a staff writer here, just FYI! That is a full-time position, and also a vagina is not

I was never a star and I don't even care. Thank you guys. Onward my gray comrades!

This isn't my usual name on Jezebel; this is my actual name, but I'd like to keep them as seperate as possible here, so some of you who answered my survey last year know this and if someone could make this comment show up that would be awesome.

I love frozen garlic cubes. I also have frozen ginger cubes too. Ginger & garlic are two ingredients I hate peeling & preparing. Garlic in particular gets sticky and the little bits of papery skin stick to your fingers/your knife/the garlic/the chopping board, not to mention the smell is impossible to get out of your

Stay tuned for my Thought Catalog Piece "What it's like to be a white woman dating white men".

HE SELLS MONOGRAMMED COFFEE THERMOSES (PROBABLY).

That is really making me question the validity of this survey. DC is crazy town. The traffic is absurd (and I don't even DRIVE! I am on the bus, though, so there's that), it's expensive as hell, and it's not close enough to the beach.

Oh are you talking about the first two women? I don't think "degrading sweatshop conditions" and "Forced to work exhausting hours" would be all that hard to write. They may know some basic English. I mean, those two tags aren't War and Peace, you know?

This man should be called Whatadick.

HEY! WHAT'S WRONG WITH DRIVING A FUCKING TRUCK??? Also, Whataburger is delicious. Also also, it's not nice to punch people in the face.

I had my first kid at 20, and was a single mom. It was crazy hard. I don't wish that on anyone. What I missed out on: Having an apartment alone, growing up slowly, figuring out my career before 33. FREE TIME. You're doing alright sister. No judgement here.

God, I hate that SHIT. I might tell people to REALLY re-consider the whole idea of marriage and how that can change, but having my daughter has been the loveliest, most delightful surprise of my lifetime (32 this year). I am not a naturally maternal person, but holy hell do I get so much joy from nearly every moment.

Aw, I really, really hope I did not come across as snarky! Not my intent at all. I remember being 8 days overdue with my first, wondering what the h@ll I got myself into. Terrified of being a mother, and in a large part because of media articles I'd read. Life doesn't end, but it does surely change! How the heck

Oh it does change your life, especially in the beginning. That's a little intense, but it does get easier. We took our kids everywhere. Airplanes, restaurants, Asia, and hotels. They adapted quickly and they were happy as long as we were around. 15 years after the first one, I think they are the coolest people I
