I'm really glad you wrote this. I'm 27 and we may start trying next year, and thanks to the constant barrage online of "it's the worst thing ever it ruins your life for the love of god don't", I am a little terrified.

Agree. I am a mother and I'm still pretty chill.
Hmph. I am not a rich, high-powered executive and my job is the opposite of glamorous. The decision not to have children was pretty much made for me thanks to a number of health issues. That said, my life is really happy! It's almost as if there's more than one way to have a good life.
Nothing beats a good mind fuck... except maybe the beating itself. :-)
What would you have me wear? Do you wear armor or carry a lance? Do you drive a covered wagon? I live in an apartment, wear glasses, drive a minivan. I also vote in my tribal elections, teach my son to dance, and find ways each day assert our tribal identity.
There are over 500 Federally Recognized Tribes in the US. There really isn't just one "Native American Culture," and while this might be true with some tribes, it isn't true for all :)
Slings and Arrows. Slings and Arrows is everything. I know they took it off Netflix streaming :-( I don't know if it's available on Hulu and/or Amazon. But it's so perfect I would even recommend paying for it. The Returned is also really good and the mood matches the never ending winter we're having.
They need much stricter laws for johns in this country. Especially those that solicit from minors.
Honestly, anyone who doesn't acknowledge the complications of interethnic dating is fooling themselves. My wife and I, despite being together for over a decade, still occasionally find moments where we realize that our ethnic cultural upbringing creates gaps between our understandings of situations. And that's fine,…
Coconut oil is the way to go. I got a big tub of it from Sam's club for about $8. It has a lightly sweet scent that doesn't linger and doesn't counteract any perfume you chose. That's why I like it. I've also found that oiling up and then brushing/flossing/random chin hair plucking gives the oil time to soak in for…
I just wanted to second the recommendation for body oil. Normally my skin gets so dry that I scratch until it bleeds and I cry. This winter I finally tried Neutrogena sesame oil right after the shower, and I couldn't believe the difference. I'm not crazy about the scent so I might try another one, but other than that…
Oh my God the Weather Channel website. It's like a bad tabloid with a weather fetish.
But rape humour is so edgy! It rejects the status quo of our rape-free world and makes us imagine a world where sexual assault would be rampant, its perpetrators treated with impunity and its victims shamed and silenced! Avant-garde!
Lea Michele's rep has made a statement regarding the death of her longtime boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith l…
As for your first question, you can explain it in a cover letter or you can get involved in your interest field via volunteer work or something part time. It's totally ok to switch career tracks, but you need to be prepared for harder questions in the application process and perhaps a lower level initial job. For the…
What is a good strategy to employ when answering questions about your desired salary on an online application? THANKS!
For recent college graduates, how do you use a resume to show you have the qualifications for a job when they are things learned in a classroom?
