Lol. He is not ignorant. He knows exactly why he needs to play down the Me Too movement. Years before Weinsteins assault and harrassment stories were aired, Travolta was in the news for the exact same thing. Multiple victims with similar stories, some of whom forfeited anonimity and all of whom were ripped to shreds

Oh, poor John Travolta, your slip is showing, sistah! I’ve heard of his exploits harassing and assaulting assorted men at bathhouses, etc. for decades at this point. He was one of the very first men I’ve ever heard of attacking other men. Since the 1970s. Really no surprise he’s anti-metoo—that asshole is an OG

Get the fuck outta here, Travolta, and take your pubey beard with you.

Get a load of this: Cohen’s financial records from the Treasury database were leaked by an official who became concerned that other, much more alarming reports appeared to have been wiped from the records.

Arghh this gets me in so many ways... I have an inherent trust for doctors, as I’m sure many of his patients did. Plus that many of the women were seeing a gyno for the first time, and your standard gyno exam involves a human looking at your vagina and just a general plethora or touching and feeling for abnormalities,

People wonder why I have such a huge fear of doctors. THIS is why. Too many damn stories like this. This guy, Nasser, another doctor reported today committing $240 million dollars worth of health care fraud comprised of unnecessary treatments for his patients...

Even when women outnumber men in school or a profession, men are still disproportionately hold positions of power. I work with ob-gyns, and not surprisingly, women far outnumber men. But men are still frequently in charge of the women’s health program in medical schools or at hospitals.

Funnily enough, if admissions at elite institutions were actually gender-blind and race-blind there would be very few men and very few white people at the top schools*.

There’s a hilarious reddit that is about cataloguing examples of this. It’s Called “asablackman”, and it’s mostly about people who start their comments with comments like “as a black man”, or “as a liberal”, or “as a woman of color” and end up sounding basically like the comments of a Breitbart article.

My dad (who’s actually in academia, incidentally!) changed his name when he got remarried in the mid-1990s. When I mentioned this fact to my mother-in-law, she looked at me in horror and remarked about how that would make it complicated for genealogists. Like ... what? First of all, I’m sure that it’s about ten

Um, it’s more than a little judgemental, I fully recognise that. I wish I felt differently but I just don’t. There are always Reasons but you don’t think it’s funny that those reasons always end with women taking their husbands’ names? Lots of men hate their fathers, but seemingly not enough to result in enough men

I knew a couple where the man tried to take his wife’s last name, more to be contrary to tradition than anything else, but found it pretty close to impossible from a legal standpoint. His wife just had to sign the dotted line to take his, while he had to jump through all sorts of hoops. They gave up and kept their

It’s not a harmless practice though. If it were, more men would change their names. But they don’t. Which makes it clear that it’s a sexist bullshit tradition that is demeaning to women and makes it clear that a woman’s identity is less valuable than a man’s.

My wife and I got tons of grief about it from random people. They’re all idiots.

Also, I want to add that I support Rita’s bisexuality, if that’s how she chooses to identify, but that doesn’t excuse her from criticism. Another reason this song has rankled so many people is that, be it her personal experience with her sexuality or not, it feels very far removed from the wlw community. She describes
