As someone who teaches at a Uni I cannot express how terrifying this idea really is, and how wrong headed it seems from a staff POV.

The biggest problem I have with this is the misconception that a good guy with a gun negates a bad guy with a gun. Generally, a good guy with a gun just creates additional chaos in an already chaotic scene.
