I saw a bunch of the pictures from that! She’s always such a goddess...

She will always be my absolute favorite. I’m so lucky to be able to go see her next month when she’s in Massachusetts! I always thought that you could tell from her music that she’s a kind soul.

That’s really all wonderful in theory, but sometimes, you have to admit, there’s no way to be the bigger person. When I’m at work, where I’m overqualified and highly skilled, and male chefs still talk over me, act like they know better, and make comments about my body and about the bodies of customers, the only way to

Right? And we’re really going to praise Mr. Denim on Denim and Mrs. Unwise Footwear Choice?

Also not what I said. At all. I’m talking about corporations, not individuals.

I never said I expected anything else from corporations. All I’m saying is that, if we can’t expect them to challenge oppression for women, they won’t challenge oppression for men either, at least not in any meaningful way. I’m not expecting capitalist productions to go against capitalism.

Like all the ad campaigns that seek to capitalize on showing “real women” and the like, I think men will find that corporations trying to push against patriarchal pressures, while they may scratch the surface of some personal forms of oppression, won’t enact any meaningful structural change. Dove wants women to love

Are there going to be any guys that don’t have huge, rippling muscles? Good for them for taking care of themselves, but I generally enjoy the scrawny variety myself. And I’m sure there are plenty of patrons who would appreciate some thicker boys as well. If it’s about body positivity, then there should be more than

The other one I’ve heard is that it stands for “sexual assault expected.”

Oh my god. Do these people not share bathrooms at home? Even my best friend, whose family is super conservative, shares a bathroom at home without a problem. Hell, they even go in while someone is taking a shower - the only time you really need to be nude in the bathroom.

I think your point about speakers is good, but I think a lot of the time speakers get disinvited because it becomes apparent that people just won’t go to the lecture. I go to SUNY Geneseo who, a few years back, had an event where one of the philosophy professors talked about how sexual assault in the United States is

Okay, but that’s clearly a strawman. No one is proposing that. We shouldn’t throw the idea out based on people’s misconceptions of it.

Right? Also I love how this poor woman’s appearance brought two cis men into the women’s bathroom, which is exactly what those bills are supposed to prevent.

Did you miss the part with the women holding portraits of family members killed by police or...?

Judging by “Daddy Lessons,” I’m gonna say it’s both.

How do I convey the level of anger the women feel in that part of The Handmaid’s Tale where they tell the women that the rebel guy is a rapist so that they tear him limb from limb in an email?

Except anyone can go topless under New York State law.

I have a problem doing this too. For me, part of it is the hair. There’s like three, maybe four acceptable haircuts for men. All of them (except the man-bun) are short. Most of them are shorter around the sides than on top. They all just run together. It’s the worst at family reunions for me because it’s a bunch of

That’s a fair point. Still, these lobbyists support her (and supported Bill, when he ran) for a reason. She’s unlikely to change the status quo once she gets into office (although I’ll grant that she has said she will change things), and these lobbyists know that. That’s why they haven’t aligned with Bernie at all.

Wanted to add: She did give some of that money to charity, but she did not stop taking it, and she didn’t give it all away. I don’t mean to shit on her - and of course I’ll vote for her if she gets the nomination - but these things are important to bring up, especially when issues of race come up.
