No, the bottom line here is that this is what happens when women can't trust authorities to protect them. That's why this article took the tone it has. This isn't just murder, this is women reacting to a society that won't protect them. They could have gotten the wrong man, but when you can't rely on police to

Yup. So sad...

Did you mean to reply to the obvious troll?

Do you really have so little in your life that you have nothing better to do than troll this website? Your life must be so lonely and sad.

It's just a strange phenomenon to me. You'd think more religions based on equality would have popped up by now.

Fair enough. My point still stands, though.

Do you seriously have nothing better to do with your time than troll? You must lead a sad, lonely life.

If you don't like this (and none of us do), you should be with us in supporting laws that help find and convict rapists, not let women live in fear knowing anyone who rapes them won't even see the inside of an interrogation room. Not just in the US, but worldwide. This is what happens when rape prosecutions are

Where does the article celebrate what happened? This is reporting news, not celebrating the death of an alleged rapist.

The article doesn't say this is a good or bad thing. What it has done is spark a moral debate here in the comments. These issues need to be discussed. This is what happens when women can't rely on police or other authorities to capture and prosecute rapists.

No, it's not, but when authorities won't do anything to protect you, it's pretty much all that's left.

I mean, that's an interesting discussion to have, too. Why does any woman willingly enter into a belief system that reduces her to property? What kind of inferiority complex would a person need to have to do that? Most major religions place women in a place of inferiority. Is it because that's all there is to choose

It's not the end of the world, it's just another loss in the never-fucking-ending fight to control my body.

For (hopefully) the last fucking time: The employers are not the ones giving out the contraceptives. They are not providing them. They are not the company in charge of what gets covered and what doesn't. That's the doctors and the insurance companies respectively. These women, the Church, or anyone else do not get to

I agree with lindaaargh, and want to add that having something covered by insurance =/= free. It means it's covered by insurance that the employees pay for. When you have insurance through your employer, it's not free. You still pay into it, but your employer is the one who's name is on the policy. It allows more

I get where you're coming from, but this woman literally has a tattoo on her forearm with a swastika that reads, "Property of Heath." If that's sane behavior, I think we have to redefine our definition.

Are these original Nazis? No? Thanks for playing.

If you can prove they all believe that part of the religion, yes, probably. It's not logical to assume that one gender is superior to another in all cases, so a person would have to be either, very ignorant, mentally ill, or not terribly bright in order to believe it.

It's more than one linear thought to try to understand these things, so most people aren't capable of it.

Because I'm sure you knew each of their lives well enough to tell me they had no issues. And I'm sure you're trained in psychiatric medicine.
