An abuser is not a fucking flame. An abuser is a human being who chooses their actions. An abuser is not a static object that cannot be fixed or a person who "made a mistake." They are the ones who need to be held accountable. Our society needs to stop treating them like something that cannot be controlled and start

Thank you for this. We don't know her, so why are we judging her so much?

If you're really a class or two away from a degree in psychology, can't you see that what you're doing is classic projection?

I've always kind of wanted a house-husband. My last boyfriend and I both worked, but he worked less than I did and actually enjoyed doing housework, so a lot of chores fell to him. I did all the cooking, but he cleaned and did dishes and all that. He really liked it, and we always talked about how once I had a real,

I'd just tell him not to. If he gets bent out of shape about it, it's not really your problem. He shouldn't try to convince you to let him do that once you've clearly expressed that you don't want him to. You don't have to justify your preferences.

It definitely makes sense. I feel like everything that goes into the canon should have some kind of asterisk that tells us exactly why this piece made it into the canon and others didn't. 'Cause fuck knows that the canon doesn't necessarily include the best works, just the ones that the powers-that-be choose because

Fellow English major here!

But you can't reduce an issue like rape to one specific kind and ignore all the others. It's all part of the same culture, it's all part of the same problem.

But that's where your logic fails. You assume there's nothing we can do to stop rapists from being rapists. You assume that all rapes are the same and can be prevented by the behavior of the victim.

Erm, well, I guess all I'll say is that I have never even ridden a horse, but I have ridden a man.

He's more complex in the books...he still needs to be saved a lot, but he's useful in other ways. He acts as Katniss' foil, the things she's good at, he's not, and vice versa. In the books, his knack for public speaking is way more important.

Is...is it incredibly telling that I thought the shoehorn was a riding crop at first?

There are differing levels of BPD. Some people can manage it without medication (admittedly, this is an incredibly low number) and most can live relatively normal lives with medication. Others, you're right, cannot.

Yup. I was raised Catholic. Fastest ticket to atheism anyone can get.

So they decided to have the illness that drove them to destructive behavior? Awesome. Go tell that to a kid who can't stop cutting himself, or a kid who's addicted to putting her fingers down her throat. I'm sure they'll just decide to stop having the disease and those compulsions because clearly they hadn't thought

That's reductive. You have to actually look at *why* this person would be eating a non-food object. Hell, even if there wasn't a reason, you'd still want to have them evaluated by a mental health professional.

Yeah, and if those idiots with clinical depression kill themselves, that's just Darwin, too.

Next time don't run your mouth about things you don't understand.

Oh, excuse me, I assumed you'd be able to understand my intention. Clearly I'll have to help you out, little troll.

So you're on par with them, too?
