Yep, and the GIF at the top of this article looks sped up in comparison.

The Steam Controller is built around a new generation of super-precise haptic feedback, employing dual linear resonant actuators. These small, strong, weighted electro-magnets are attached to each of the dual trackpads. They are capable of delivering a wide range of force and vibration, allowing precise control over…
For size and hand-placement reference, here's the prototype shot posted on the page (which I think Kotaku should include?):
Hey, it looks like I was kind of right =)
Yeah, they actually made sense (in terms of their arguments) and tried to shift the blame on other things as well including movies, paint ball etc. calling into question why people blame video games at all. I'm not saying they're right in any way, but they didn't seem to be condemning video games as the article sort…
Does it matter that 'everyone' includes me? However, I live in India and I'm more worried about my own country's issues, so you can't mean everyone, right?
xkcd Rule No. 32: Always look for the alt-text.
Yes, I saw your earlier comment on that =)
Hmm.. I'm actually beginning to think on your line of two SteamOSs.. Maybe it's not just a controller, but something like the WiiU's Gamepad or the Xbox Smartglass app but more functional/controller-ish?
Hmm.. I see.. If you're just using a laptop and you're going to plug it anyways into the TV to make use of SteamOS, you'd be better off just using Steam's Big Picture mode, available in the Windows Steam client.
We haven't been given too many details on how the OS will work, so that question can't be answered beyond saying that it should be possible to dual-boot Windows and SteamOS.
Aha! Well I hope things get places, and maybe SteamOS can help =)
Cool, thanks for the heads up!
It's written in the article that existing titles can be streamed to SteamOS and newer titles are being developed to support SteamOS natively, including AAAs. The next announcements will probably point out which publishers and games, so hold on to your hats =)
That's sort of what Big Picture is all about, right? They seem to be porting all functionality and options to it over time, and I'm pretty sure it's near complete. Redesign of the base client though? Hmm.. Sure, why not? =)
Sounds like that's what they're saying =)
Some people, including myself, feel that the last announcement could be Steam multiplayer and or social features, seeing as how
On the website (and in the article) it states developers are on-board for building for SteamOS, including AAAs. Which devs/publishers/games remains to be seen.
The main difference is that the latter is an OS, but that's not all, and to put it briefly I see it as Valve pushing it as a PC console/gaming-capable HTPC - no need for a Windows purchase. This is not supposed to replace your Windows workstation.
Yup, that's the way I'm looking at it too, sort of like a PC console with all the media functionality as well. Here's to improvements in streaming with all the improvements they claim to be making at the OS level =)
