Yeah... there are some books that are much-recommended, and I’m sure they are good, but that I’ve just put on the “probably never” list. Infinite Jest, Cloud Atlas, Moby Dick and Ulysses (as someone above mentioned) are some of the main offenders/victims.

if someone said they picked my book up because they think they should read more African American authors - I would feel sick.

My first thought looking at this picture was “Is that the same guy four times?”

I’m Finnish and Irish. You’ve just described my whole life. At least since I moved to Toronto it’s only for four months of the year. In New Zealand it’s literally every day.

Another bonus of shorts: kids don’t rip the knees of their pants every other week. Skin heals but there are only so many times that you can mend torn fabric.

Once I got a tan (the one summer I had an outside job) and it was really confusing for me because I just thought my hands were dirty all the time and I washed them like 20 times a day.

It is in New Zealand?

There are lots of factors, but personally I think your two-party system is flawed to the core and encourages an “us vs them” mentality that permeates every part of daily life. If your Democratic party was located anywhere else in the world it would be considered very conservative. If the current Republicans were

“I have only been accused of raping people in my personal and professional life.”

Reminds me of a friend in university complaining that “For all I hear about this bloody gay agenda, I have never once been invited to a meeting to ratify the thing.”

My friend’s son was nicknamed “The little asshole” for a few months during a particularly tough time. I think it’s a healthy way to blow off steam from the non-stop difficulty of some phases. They never said it to his face, and it was dropped as a nickname when the behaviour stopped, but it sort of diffused the

Also if you do have insurance it will not cover condoms but it will cover (at least partly) other birth control options including the pill, ring and IUD. I live in Canada so it’s different, but my benefits through work mostly covered my IUD, so over the five years that’s a) a lot cheaper than condoms, b) has side

I cut all my hair off six months ago and I am a Short Hair Evangelist now. Mine is a bit longer than hers, but it’s so easy and fun. Find a great hairdresser and they will be able to talk you through it to find something that looks great and suits you. Mine was recommended by a friend and he loves (and is good at)

My partner is an artist and I’d love to get something he drew as a tattoo, but I hold back a little because I worry about how I’d feel about it if we did break up eventually.

Yeah - An Untamed State just tears your heart into pieces, staples it back together and shoves it back in your chest.

I didn’t quite go to the same lengths, but I try to maintain a minimum 50% women (it’s actually more like 70%) and 25% authors of colour (currently about 30% for 2015) on my lists. These are the authors that blow me away:

Haha, the most recent one I remember was:

I’m pretty sure I check out men and women a lot more than my partner. There have been at least two occasions when I said something about women in the park (not snarky, like “I love her outfit” or “I wonder if I could pull off that look”) and he’s not noticed her at all because he was looking at a dog. I just like

I think they’re setting him up for the next show/movie. I kind of liked him at first but then he annoyed me and then... well... yeah. I love that this show acknowledges that actions have consequences. So often in shows someone does a thing and maybe there’s a consequence for the sake of it or just because it’s

YES PLEASE TO A NEW HOME FOR TOO MUCH, GIRL. Do you need a reference? A petition? I especially loved your product diary when you were like “And then I went home and drank bourbon slushie and played Dragon Age” because sometimes I put on fancy shoes and a cocktail dress and my boyfriend says “Where are you headed?” and
