They call them hard mode, but except for the first three they’re really story mode Primals. Ifrit Garuda and Titan HM were really tough, back before people were over geared for em.

The lobby server issue mostly seems to affect the most heavily populated servers. Thankfully I am not one of the multitude of people that assumed the grass would be greener if I transferred to a more heavily populated server. Mines one of the medium sized ones, and we’re getting by without any real hitches.

I really want VR to take off, not as a replacement for traditional gaming mind you, but as a means to compliment it.

Was just a joke man. XD

You know, this title probably got a lot of Bronies really excited. XD

I’d heard, and it is a bit sad, but still also funny. XD

I’ve heard, but it’s still funny. XD

I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over all that FFXIV expansion hype.

Oooooh nononono, porting it over to the FFXIV engine would be one step shy of rebuilding the game from scratch. It’d be huuuuuuuuge project, and I cannot see SE going for it in any way shape or form.

ilvl120 is fine for the new areas. It’s been stated that ilvl 130 is actually, “over,” what is required to start Heavensward content, so 110-120 should be about right.

Been hype for this ever since I saw the teaser trailer at last years Fan Fest in Vegas. Trust me, seeing that live was aaaaaammmaaaaazzziiiing.

You might be able to convince them to do something with a service kit, but I doubt you can convince them to keep doing major updates. From what I’ve heard the game is difficult to create content for in the first place. What’s more, from SE’s perspective content upgrades are resources that could be used in different

FF9 actually had to have it’s battle system further slowed down, as it pushed the hardware so hard that they needed extra time to load assets, and pre-calculate certain things. As for turn based systems in general, they can be really fun, but they’re obviously not everyone’s cup of tea.

Well, also because the games user-base, which had already been pretty heavily diminished by the passage of time, has been further thrashed by the success of Final Fantasy XIV. Be that as it may though, they’ve outright stated that FFXI’s story is over, the game will be shutting down services for everything except PC

Gonna agree with you here. While I do lament the loss of a turn based battle system, this wouldn’t be the first Final Fantasy title to eschew turn based mechanics. (FF12 did it, and I highly enjoyed it.) If that’s the rational for deeming this, “not a true Final Fantasy,” then that is weak sauce indeed.

FFXI is over with the latest expansion. I don’t see why they wold bother porting and upgrading it at this point. I mean, no offense and all, I get it, but there’s a time to move on and this is it.

A: A, doesn’t work. Both Microsoft and Sony have done market research and have stated that the number of customers whom buy consoles for backwards compatibility isn’t significant.

A: Sony wouldn’t make any money off such a project, so they wouldn’t be throwing full resources at it. Even Microsoft hasn’t thrown full resources at their attempts at emulation in the past, and they both have more money to throw and have historically had an easier task.

The PS3 emulator can run a total of two games, neither of which are graphically intense. What’s more, they run with severe frame rate issues. It’ll be several more years before it’s ready for Prime Time.

First: You need a LOT more power to emulate hardware then it’d take to run the same software on it’s native hardware.
