Power creep shouldn’t be a problem. Stats in FFXIV are designed to give players linear returns, rather than making them exponentially more powerful.

Endgame didn’t really take off in ARR until 2.2. By then there were five Extreme Primals to challenge players, a casual 24 man raid, Binding Coil of Bahamut (which started receiving nerfs around that time,) and The Second Coil of Bahamut.
No, sadly while FFXI is still profitable it’s been a niche MMO for awhile. Plus it’s reaching the end of its lifespan. The game is getting one more moderate sized update akin to a small expansion, and then it’s done. The story is being wrapped up, PS2 support is being pulled, and the game will receive no new major…
The fact that you cite, “slow combat,” tells me you never got past low level dungeuns .
To be fair, FFXIV is only mildly inventive as far as MMO’s go. Instead it relies heavily on aesthetic, frequency of content upgrades, and overall level of polish.
So does this leave WoW and FFXIV as the only major MMO’s to primarily use a Subscription model? Or are their other big MMO’s out there that still use Subs?
Yes, Nintendo uses first party titles to sell the 3DS, but essentially every first party 3DS title is still a mid budget title.
The Vita’s problem was it’s high price and lack of compelling titles. Nintendo mostly relies on mid budget titles for the 3DS, but doesn’t have nearly the issue moving units as Sony has with the Vita.
Translation, the industry needs middle tier games.
......didn’t really think Wreck it Ralph got boring near the end. I mean the pace slowed down a bit at parts, but mostly because it got into more drama-driven scenes. A few drama driven scenes aren’t a bad thing when they’re well executed.
Sony paid for much of the development, so no. I know it’s a bummer, but they wanted a system seller, and the game may not have been developed otherwise.
Gonna make a few things clear. Although I read some Marvel Comics, I’m not a Fantastic Four fan. That particular franchise is just a bit too campy for my taste.
A stretch? Honestly Mortal Kombat games have never been terribly good. I mean, some have better fighting mechanics than others, but if you don’t buy into the gore as a plus then the series is overall pretty, meh.
You guys are just figuring this out? I had about as much as I could take somewhere around the first half of the 2nd season, it was just too much! It’s a shame, because I love the politics and lore aspect of the show. If they could have just shown some small degree of restraint it could’ve been wonderful. Instead, they…
On Pixelated sprites in videogames. It can be nice, but high res sprites need some loving too.

Man, wish I knew of a more affordable way to keep up with comics, read the backlogs, etc etc etc. It’s often something I find myself wishing I could get into, but every time I try I look at how much money I’m spending and boggle.
Ahh yes, chok that one up to most script writers in Hollywood not really knowing much in the field of actual science. Or conversely, lacking the sort of attention to detail that the typical audience has.
Well, additionally I’d call most of the failings, “niggling issues,” rather than, “major issues.” They’re things that could have been very easily addressed; maybe one more quick pass through the script by a decent writer, or perhaps a few more minutes of run time to expand a few scenes, (or to cut a few others.)
