"Wouldn't something more tank-like, with a low center of gravity and tons of guns, be more practical?"

I quite enjoyed it although I'll admit I pretty much laughed my way through the second half of it. Then again that whole laughing thing may be because my friends and I made the brilliant decision to go see it at a drive in on a night that was about 40 degrees outside with good winds.

The first computer I ever got that was mine and mine alone.

I used my original iPad and now my Asus Transformer Prime mostly as an internet browser, e-reader (lcd screens have no effect on me in terms of eye strain), and when I'm running on the treadmill it gets used for Netflix. It's actually started to replace my laptop (a Qosmio X505) since it's more than 7 lbs lighter,

Oh absolutely, and it probably didn't help in my case that the first drive of theirs to fail was due to the firmware issue that all of their consumer 7200.11 drives had (even though 500GB drives weren't supposed to be widely affected...). The second one to fail was due to literally thousands of bad sectors that

I actually did not know that about Raid 1. I always assumed that Raid 0 was absolutely faster, but it never occurred to me that they could get the same read speeds out of Raid 1 at least for read. It really should have though since it makes complete sense. If you've got all the files on both drives why not read

I think the real cost here is the Thunderbolt connection. Being able to run these external drives at nearly the same speed as your internal drives (or even faster if your internals aren't in Raid 0 as well) could make this drive pretty tempting for anyone who needs that feature. I'm thinking graphical artists and

I've had far fewer issues with Western Digital drives than I have with Seagates (2 out of my 4 Seagates have died on me in the last 3 years). Although I do buy only the Black drives from WD so that probably makes a difference. Of course I've still got more Seagates than WD simply due to the fact that even if I

I really want to through Freelancer in now :(. Does it even run on Windows 7? I don't think I've tried it. Hm... maybe I can get my roomy into it with me if I start up again. Seems like the kind of game she might be into.

http://youtu.be/ This guy seems to enjoy it enough.

One of the supercomputers that I will soon be working with has this same type of system set up too keep it cool, although as far as I know we don't use the waste heat for anything. It's a pretty interesting system all around.

A wired connection is always better. When you use a wired connection there's less overhead meaning you can transmit more data per packet. Interference is also lower, so the chance of a packet being dropped, corrupted, etc is lower. You also don't have to worry about how many concrete/brick/steel/etc walls are

This is my response to that.

I honestly knew nothing about this until today when George Takei posted the pic saying so on his Facebook, and I had much the same reaction. One of my favorite quotes form Einstein pretty much sums up my feelings about humanity as a whole right now...

Search "portable dishwasher" on Amazon. They've got a ton of countertop and wheeled ones that would probably work for you.

Now playing

This seems a fitting place to put this...

Heh, I got some good laughs out of that. Nice find.

Hey now! There's no du... yeah okay there's dust on it. Honestly I don't think I've played more than 20-30 hours worth of games on my 3DS since I got the thing at it's launch. The games were cool, but handhelds and me just don't tend to get along well. I don't have the extra time for them when there's stuff ready

You know what... I'm okay with that. Just give me that damn map editor the likes of which we haven't seen on consoles since Future Perfect.

For some of us our internet speeds are finally getting to the point where an upgrade from G is required. I've had 30Mbps download speeds for about six months now, and just upgraded to a refurb Linksys N router in order to finally get my full speed instead of the 20Mbps that the wireless G maxed out at. Now I've got
