Good list, though not being a fan of anime and not having any Nintendo consoles means my list differs, obviously.

Of all the games I've played in 2014, this is the one I've fallen asleep playing the most. I'd drive until I was too tired to continue, then I'd wake up at three in morning, slumped in my chair, hands still gripping the wheel. That's love. Sleepy, sleepy love.
Many of Sony's MMOs are actually Free to Play. Some do have limits, but rarely as crippling as you see in SWTOR. Planetside 2 can be played entirely free; the cash stuff just boosts earnings or gives you cool skins or quicker access to weapons that aren't necessarily "better" in the Pay-to-Win sense of things.
Yeah... I betad then bought the game, I subbed for 6 months then quit when all my friends left for other games. When it went F2P I figured "awesome, now I can play it a little bit without feeling bad about paying $15/month." But no. Trying to play a max-level character is impossible without dropping money constantly…
There's so much text in Dragon Age: Inquisition's codex that they moved a whole bunch of it to the loading screens. Cool enough idea, but it's weird how the screens will drop a 5-graf lore dump on your head, then vanish after like seven seconds. Stranger, the game will keep loading, but the screen will be black. I…
I'm not sure if you're intentionally trolling, or what, but every one of your replies to people in this thread is the usual troll-bait bullshit. "Oh, don't be butthurt"-style replies are pretty pathetic.
Well said. I bought my Xbox One because it's more powerful than my current desktop and is a better household machine, while a PC tends to be a one-user deal, especially when Steam is involved. (Don't get me started on their "Family Sharing" which doesn't allow me to play a F2P MMO without kicking my son off his…
Cross-platform development has long been a thing. With DirectX I can use a single development solution to create versions for multiple platforms using a common code base. Yes, some platforms require modification, but take a look at the engine used for id's Rage. The game may have been "meh," but the engine was a…
How is the Kinect worthless now? Did they slip in an uninstaller that removed voice commands and everything else? Or is it just a convenient bullet in your fanboy ammo belt?
I bought it day one and ran into a handful of technical issues, mostly involving online components. So I just ran solo for a while until those issues were fixed.
Why does everyone expect a performance patch to have immense, sweeping changes? Suddenly it should run a smooth 60fps at all times? Or have an extra 20 miles view distance?
Not to mention, SteamOS only runs OpenGL. No DirectX games, sorry! Hell, PS4 and WiiU support DX11.
I returned GTA V within two weeks. It was juvenile and tasteless and tried to act like it was making a statement with curb-stomping and torture. The Online was boring and limited after playing Red Dead Redemption online for 100+ hours.
I'm not a subscriber yet, as I don't play any sports games. But I see the future value in the service absolutely. It just launched on a still-newish platform with a limited library. With time, it's going to be a good service for people who don't rush out to buy every single game they might enjoy, or to check out games…
So you'd be okay if the PS4 copy of Tomb Raider had 2 fewer Tombs at the same price? Destiny core game and DLC costs the same on both platforms. But Xbox players will currently have to wait a year to unlock two of the seven Strike missions currently available. Strikes being the thing to repeat over and over for PvE…
I bought it on X1 and loved it. It had its issues, but overall was an entertaining package in an interesting world with lots to explore and steal and upgrade.
I like how when Microsoft pays, it's like a dirty under-the-table bribe that goes straight into some CEO's pocket as he cackles with his fingers arched.
I don't see why. It's not like my system has degraded in usefulness. It was always possible to do anything without voice commands by pressing 3-13 buttons and directions. And I could always scan through a list of profiles to select me (last, of course) instead of having the camera recognize me when the controller is…
Ah, but was it really? From the start, it hasn't been all that clear what a "Steam Machine" really is. It's a PC, designed to fit comfortably in the living room, and somehow affiliated or branded with Valve. What makes a Steam Machine a Steam Machine, rather than a boutique PC running Valve software?
Just when we thought we were beginning to leave The Era of the Third-Party Exclusive behind, Microsoft and Square Enix announced that 2015's Rise of the Tomb Raider would be a timed Xbox exclusive. Nice for Xbox fans, but for a big, multi-platform (at this point) series like Tomb Raider to suddenly announce that most…
