@cardigfan9: I had the same evil impulse. Small claims exists for a reason, right? Fun and the cost of a coffee maker, baking sheet and measuring CUPS.

@WashingMyHair: I agree. Some people of my acquaintance reacted in a very similar manner, and I can see the world at large believing their denials. I think they believe them themselves. It's just a twisted mess of love and hurt and fear and guilt and denial.

@14Kgold: From what I heard of internet lore, the Z started out as a typo - someone was trying to just hit shift and got the Z key, too. It's now imbued with sarcasm.

I would've included the remains of Eva Peron on this list.

@Irin: I read it three times, and I don't doubt that they have legitimate issues. What irks me is that of all this is how they paint SF as boys' territory but they can help with incredibly stereotypically feminine things like the Bachelor or Sex and the City. It almost feels as if, by framing it in those terms,

Really, that's the big divide, basic knowledge of a couple of enormously popular SF and fantasy series?

I am cable-free since October. I miss the sports, but for the rest, I have an antenna, the internet and Hulu/other video streaming sites.

I went to an all-girls school and didn't have a boyfriend, so a very good guy friend who was gay was my date to my prom and I was his date to his. We hung out with friends and had mostly drama-free fun. Most of my friends didn't have boyfriends, either, so they just grabbed random guys we knew. My school had a

@Ineedmorecowbell: And vice versa! I might've pretended to be Canadian a time or two, myself.

@Hortense: Far be it for him to let truthiness interfere with a good diatribe when a baseless accusation works ten times as well.

She means a Mexican border state, of course. I live in a Canadian border state and we don't really have the same concerns about Canadians congregating in the street looking all menacing and... foreign.

@julieannie: Thanks, I got a good laugh out of that.
