@Port6: My mother, one of his constituents, wrote to him about this issue several weeks back. His response was basically along the lines of: "I received your letter, but I have absolutely no intention of even considering your position."

@funzette: Because they get a kick out of thinking that they are participating in the judgment (apparently skipping over that whole "judge not" bit) and their imaginary divine schadenfreude. Also, it makes them feel better about their own sins to imagine other people burning in hell.

@stacyinbean: I doubt most of the religious people he cites even feel that strongly about it, either. He's the one who is strongly anti-gay-marriage. He's just citing the will of the people so it sounds like he has some support.

Er, Dear Mr. State Senator: I'm a person, and also (at least nominally) a Catholic. You are incorrect, at least with regard to me and most people of my acquaintance.

@Antrack: Correct ;) As for the reckless driving bit, it's generally a crime that requires intent, so they'll have to prove that element unless they let him plead down to a lesser charge.

Absent a complainant or evidence, I don't see how the police could have pressed charges. Last time I checked, we did not prosecute people based solely upon speculation.

Left-right confusion represent!

I've been using the iLike app (now "Music") for Facebook for this... although I think I read that some changes were coming.

Somehow, I read the name of her pub as "The Sunken Inn"... and then felt horrible when I read that it had been flooded.

@elsbels: I'm also somewhat flummoxed by Jocasta. How is ancient Greece our culture?

By "unknown individuals" she means the voices in her head. The woman is readying her insanity defense. #perjury

@betty.black: It might have for me too - I usually see through twists as well. But in this case I felt robbed of the opportunity to see if it could've fooled me or not. Isn't that part of the fun?

@morninggloria: I did that with my one brother. He refused to read the final Harry Potter book when it came out because he was waiting until the movie (he's a special boy). He was annoyingly paranoid about spoilers, though, so finally one day I lost patience and told him: "Ginny snaps and kills them all."

Perhaps women don't tend to like her because she's been pretty clear she doesn't like them? #meganfoxhate

Once upon a time, there was a gentleman behind me in line to purchase tickets to see The Sixth Sense, who felt the need to exclaim: "So he'was dead all along?!"

I'd like to focus on the rest of the quote, but unfortunately I cannot get over her awkward use of the word "shibboleth" in that context. #nancypelosicamillepaglia
