No oil? No problem.
No oil? No problem.
Don't forget the money Shelby (and therefore, Ford) put into making 6 one off creations a.k.a the Daytona coupes to kick Ferrari's ass in the GT class as well.
Drewbacca?
Chevy makes work trucks too. Exactly the same as GMC does. They're the same pickup. The seperation between the brands is the fact that GMC has a higher package available. They're the same godamn truck. Always have been. Maybe put one on a lift and wrench on one for a hell of a long time before jumping to conclusions.
GMC does not make "stripped down work trucks" GMC is the slightly luxury version of Chevrolet. Ever heard of the Denali? Well you can get a 2500HD with a duramax and a Denali package. GMC=rich peoples Chevy.
OH MY GOD.
JUST.
SHUT.
THE HELL
UP.
Oh gawd. Why you do did to me?!
What. A. Dweeb.
Seriously? The Jeep Wrangler. Hands down.
I think this is the first time I've read somebody bring up Ken Miles in the story. When I read the book, I almost cried in the end when Shelby said "We've got to do something for him." So many feels.
That's still a LOT of money for a truck though. If you gave me a choice between a new Chevy 1500 and one from 2003, I'd go 2003.
That's true. You wouldn't necessarily HAVE to have forced induction to squeeze out another 200hp from a new engine, but going the N/A route would be WAY more expensive.
Actually, for the lay man, this is pretty true. I don't know many people that can afford a $5,000 scan tool. These days diagnosis and repair isn't about being able to clear a code, it's about finding why a code has set. And I don't know how much time you've spent under a new car's hood as compared to an old one, but…
"American cars aren't reliable."
Yeah. I'm an idiot. But I would change your argument a little. New cars make power much more efficiently than old cars did (not just in terms of fuel) but some old engines made a crap ton more horse power than what was originally stated.
Seconded. Have you seen the prices for new pickup trucks? $70,000 in top spec. Are you freaking kidding me?!
You might want to pump the breaks there. OEM power figures on old cars were always higher than what the manufacturer told the public.
Reliability. Chevy makes reliable pick up trucks with engines of the same architecture. If you want to make an argument comparing them to Ford's DOHC engines, ask someone how much it cost when the cam phazer took a dump.
*hits light pole
*projectile vomits front end components.
You are a lucky man. All the ones around me are beat to hell.
