Well put and you are spot on. He never seems to have a plan for when he gets the ball and relies on his speed to bail himself out of the terrible 1st (and 2nd) touches.
I know I’m in good company, but Zardes makes it SO EASY to hate him. Those first few minutes were a dumpster fire consisting of bad touches (no kidding) and give-aways followed by clumsy runs and standing flat footed at the top of the box.
Something about Nagbe and Pulisic out there together makes me very happy. Are there any others that can straight up break ankles and put pressure on defenses better than these two?
