The cost of labor is why. The same short sided morons that demand $35 an hour plus benefits are the same people complaining about the company moving to cheaper labor. Or the problems of these company’s customers. The automakers are convinced that it’s just fine to charge $50,000 for a pickup, but get all pissy when the customer prefers to buy an American made pickup. As an employee of an automaker I can say for sure that American built pickups still return one heck of a profit.
