Yes, thank you. As I mentioned in another comment, this isn’t the kind of equality I was hoping for, but it does serve as evidence against the “men are pigs/women are emotionally mature and empathetic” stereotype (which ultimately undermines women’s equality, and which I notice is frequently perpetuated by men

Let me be clear: this is not the kind of equality I want. But when this kind of thing happens, it’s evidence against the “men are pigs/women are emotionally mature and empathetic” stereotype, which (as a woman) really grates on me.

I wish I could remember where I read this, but someone who was sent to one of those camps joked dryly that you leave those things more gay than you were when you arrived.

Isn’t that the slimeweb stuff from Stranger Things?

I’m Canadian, so in a way I don’t really have a dog in this race, but for obvious reasons I fear political instability in the US. One of the things I find most horrifying about this administration is precisely what you describe: a government seemingly on a path to self-destruction. It’s sort of like watching someone

Thank you for sharing, Giovanni. I wish I could star this more than once. Have you considered writing this as a magazine article or blog post?

I had a friend who, totally out of the blue, changed her relationship status to “married” to one of her friends (a friend to whom it was plausible she might get married). Of course everyone piled on, asking why she didn’t tell them and congratulating her and stuff. A day or two later she posted “OMG YOU GUYS CHILL OUT

Re. the thumbnail on the second video: my initial reaction was to mentally yell “FFS, content warning! I didn’t need to burst into tears in the library today!”

I recall that some people were indeed offended, although maybe not to this degree...Which is funny, because if you treat the Bible as the ultimate authority,* the claim that he’s male is actually pretty justified, whereas the claim that he’s a pale skinned northern European is ludicrous. I don’t know what colour the

Number one reason: because there are many documented cases of death row prisoners being pardoned (some of them too late) after new evidence surfaces.
