I mean, the thing is, it’s never really been our country to give away or not to give away. It’s always belonged to people like Trump. We were only ever fooling ourselves otherwise.

I completely agree with you. However, I also think that Trump’s presidency reveals certain things about America’s democratic system that were always true, for example the fact that it’s never been a true democracy. In so many ways, he is the natural consequence of capitalism.

I think that Trump is already developing a relationship with more progressive publications where he does something horrible and offensive, they report on how shocking and awful it is, and everyone makes money. It’s stopped being scandalizing when Trump does shit like this. We should learn to expect it and start

Oh for heaven’s sake. Look, the kids in Hollywood getting raped as child actors or struggling teens, they’re going through terrifying ordeals. The teens who are homeless because their parents can’t handle having homosexual kids, they’re going through a horrible ordeal. This is pretty far towards the other end of the

I still don’t give a shit about this person. Yes, the robbery sounds horrible, but no one was raped or murdered and I can’t be bothered to care that something kind of but not really all that awful happened to someone who hasn’t every done anything I admire or am concerned about.

I mean, sure, you’re right. After all, equating species who have been domesticated for literally millennia with species who have never been domesticated, are far more complicated and intelligent, and are kept in conditions they obviously, blatantly find miserable and unlivable is completely a valid argument.

So it’s okay if animals are abused and humiliated and starved, because maybe every so often a Black kid from a poor neighborhood might get to see that animal? Seriously?

Um NO, actually so many animals are going extinct because of deforestation, pollution, over-hunting, and other human intrusion into their habitats. Zoo breeding programs are not particularly an effective antidote to any of those things, though they do serve as a nice feel-good boost.

I got my information from a google search as well, not from, like, years of studying orcas. I just went to reputable sources instead of to Wikipedia.

I agree with you.

I really appreciated what you have to say. Thank you.

It is happening. Pay attention in your own neighborhood. It’s happening.

WORD

I mean, these crimes are in addition to all the lesser “incidents” that happened, like the kid who goes to my college who had bottles thrown at his head. No one was ever charged or anything, but I consider that a hate crime.

Did you guys do any research beyond pop-media and Wikipedia? The actual marine research sites assert wild orca males live on average about ten years longer than those in captivity at least, and that even those stats are colored by large concentrations of poisonous toxic chemicals in wild males which have likely

I grew watching nature shows, riding my friends’ horses, and interacting with my dog. That’s why I care about wildlife, not because I went to zoos twice. There are countless excellent documentaries and films showing wildlife and expressing the need to protect wild animals. If you want your kids to care, show them

I don’t think zoos are acceptable at all. I think wild animal parks are getting there, but really wild animals should be in their natural habitats, not halfway around the world.

Maybe you can go on the internet. Maybe you can stop whining about how you can’t see orcas in the wild and that is clearly a Major Loss to your life. You are acting like a whiny, spoiled little child, and frankly I think keeping you away from wild animals can’t possibly do them any harm.

I don’t see why this is a good thing. If these animals can’t survive in the wild, let them die out and be done with it—or else put your efforts towards conserving these animals and their habitats in the wild.
