I agree about the trophy beer thing, but I think it is important to remember one very crucial thing about these beers: they're only incrementally better than the beer they started off as. If that is already astounding beer, how much room for improvement is there? How is is possible to make something like Breakfast

Fabulous. +1

Man, context really matters. I wouldn't want to drink a lot of stout if I lived in Nicaragua the rest of my days. Anyway, here are my 3:

A good Cincinnati option is Listermann's Nutcase. It's peanut butter porter, and is pretty damn good stuff, especially the barrel-aged version.

Goddamit. St. Lunatics, you need to run this guy out of town on a rail after you've "ranched" and feathered him.

Not pilsener, but this is among the best European lagers out there:

When asked to comment on the difficulty keeping the two of them identified, the elder Rougned answered with evident annoyance, "Odor". When asked to comment on his favorite pitch to hit, he answered with glee, "Odor". When asked to comment on what a bad smell was called, he answered with distain, "Odor".

I am an old school computer tech, and I remember IBM PC XTs, even though they were pretty old when I started. Those had a full-height 5.25" floppy disk drive in them with a little latch that flipped down to hold the disks in them. I once got to service one of these computers that was in a lumberyard that was clearly

That's Totteringham in a nutshell - up one day, down the next.

So the corollary in Nicaragua would be Toña or Victoria in the daytime and the wonderful Flor de Caña rum in the evening. I can actually get Toña at a strip mall monster beer mart in Northern Kentucky.

Outlaw, Overpowered: Confessions of a Dangerous Mind

I had this was earlier this year on the KBS release day at Market Wines in Findlay Market (Cincinnati). They had this and KBS both on tap, and I couldn't decide which I liked better. Both are sublime, and I went to 3 different stores to get what I could find when BB was released last month.

I tried this execrable stuff once. It was at a beef fest, and most of it ended up in the spit bucket.

Still looking for a match to Geary's Winter Ale (which I can't find here in Cincinnati) but this is my family's favorite Christmas beer.

For the best, cheapest, freshest pineapple, buy a whole one and use this on it:

This is a frequent visitor to my favorite beer glass since it's so cheap. An excellent choice for review.

Hey Will, what do you think of Geary's Winter Ale? It's proper winter ale - that is, a strong ale, not one brewed with orange peel, cinnamon, and assorted Christmas cookie sprinkles. I haven't had it for years, because it's a bit hard to find in Ohio, but I remember it fondly.
