Isn’t that basically the running joke for the past 55 years?

Oh. Are we arguing about whether or not it’s a union?
Yeah. If that’s true in all cases, then driver pay is probably completely irrelevant in the realm of a drivers association.
That’s the problem that is being addressed here. There are no drivers that can afford to race for free. They’re doing it because they have no choice and the premise here is that they should be paid.
It’s the same concept, isn’t it? A million variations on the same car?
Again... it depends on what you think of as a union. One of the biggest problems I have with unions is that they protect incompetent people from being let go and prevent better employees from being appropriately rewarded.
I commented on an earlier suggestion of BarkBox.

My sister got us a BarkBox subscription for Christmas a few years back. I think it might have been 6 months? I’m still constantly getting emails, some of them pretty amusing, from “Scout at BarkBox” trying to get me to buy more.

Have you seen Porsche’s lineup? :)
As soon as I saw they ditched the A/C I thought “Oh hell no!! Who would want this??” and then immediately it says you can have it back for free.
Nobody cares about pay drivers. They’re not an issue. This has to do with drivers that aren’t being paid at all. Drivers that are hoping to make it as paid pros but are driving for free just for the opportunity and being taken advantage of for it.
Well yeah. That’s how it works now. My suggestion was based on the idea of a minimum salary being instituted by a drivers association of some sort. I’m making the case for how it’s easily handled by pay drivers.
That’s a fair take. I didn’t really mean to imply that a union was a bad thing though. Just that it doesn’t seem to apply in the traditional sense.
I don’t think “union” is quite the right word for what they want. At least not in the sense most people think of it. Think of it as a “drivers association” the way other sports have a players association. A group with authority to look out for the drivers’ interests.
I can’t come up with a good argument for this. You’re spot on. Somewhere between “You pay to drive” and “You get paid to drive” is “You drive for free”.
BAHAHAHA!!
Nothing sounds as good as the 981 GTS. Nothing. :)
LOL. The Cayman is effectively the exact same size of a new 911. About 1" off in each direction from a 1970's 911? It’s less than 1" off in every direction except length from a new 911 and the length is just due to the overhangs. It has a LONGER wheelbase than a new 911.
Worth noting that the Cayman is more expensive. :)
I laugh when I read this sort of thing. It’s funny how people imagine a reality so much different than the one we live in.
