Knew of a welder in the early 90's with a first generation Dodge Dakota, metal rear bumper, who welded a piece of metal to enclose it and make two boxes. Drilled and tapped holes in each side, top and bottom, filled one with water and the other with coolant. Coolest bumper idea I'd ever seen, until this one. Very

Why didn't I think of this? If there's a 12 step program for hot sauce I should probably be in it.

One of our children's favorite meal is fake crab fettuccine Alfredo. We use the jar from the store sauce referenced above. I don't like it, and it's given me a dislike of all types of Alfredo. I'm hoping this recipe will bring me back to the fold, at least until the butter and cream overwhelm the Crestor and plug the

I second this. For homeowner quality tools you intend to keep, go Craftsman. Not as good as they used to be, but still light years ahead of the Freight. For tools your wife and kids are going to lose, sure, get HF.

I think that the internet is one of the best tools out there for helping people like this (and when I say "this" I mean "me") get information and motivation to deal with these kinds of problems without feeling judged or embarrassed. And Mr. Babauta's advice is always very concise and helpful. If you haven't read Zen

So, what is that spiky egg thing to the right of the McNasty? The womb the vile concoction sprang from?

First time I ever shaved was with a straight razor. Lucky I didn't cut my teenage throat. Now I use a Norelco.

I'm Xbox from the very first one, had one of the first 360 slims on launch day, am a big time MS fanboy and even have a WP8 (that replaced my WP7). Having said all that, I don't see me buying a One. I don't need it to stream video, I don't particularly get into Kinect all that much, and just don't see the need to

Swiss army knife, pref. the tinker. Everything I need on a regular basis with great portability. Easy to sharpen, cheap, durable, clean it in the dishwasher.

Indiana and Kentucky too.

Actually I wish they'd just stayed with Dodge.

Regardless of who gets credit for the airplane, as an American I have to say that Santos Dumont was a totally awesome dude and you have every right to be really proud of him.

I'm fortunate enough to live in a low cost of living area (of course it also doesn't have the attractions of a larger city, so there's that). You can live pretty well around here for $65-75, so I'll say that's my magic number. I don't want lots of stuff, but I would like a little more peace of mind that I can take

Dodge Colt Carousel. We had one of these in the mid to late 70's.

I'm in my late 40's. Last year I decided I was fed up with the career I'd been in all my adult life and decided to do something completely different, trading a W2 salaried management position for one where I get paid commission 1099. I didn't do any appreciable research beforehand.

BRAAAIIINSSSS! Or coffee. Coffee's good too.

Talk about a rough day at the office.

So, a crossbow isn't considered a "fun" thing here?

I agree. Especially nowadays, I think jacket/no tie is much more sophisticated than tie/no jacket. Of course, I'm in the midwest, and ties aren't nearly as common around here anymore anyway.

I have a steel wok, and it's ok, but I always seem to either a) burn stuff on the bottom 'cause I have the heat turned up to supernova since everyone says stir fry has to be hotter than hell or b) everything gets mushy. Actually usually both. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
