This is a great breakdown of Van Helen’s talent with in-depth analysis of a few of their songs. Highly recommended for the VH fan.
I’m with you on Jump but 1984 is definitely one of my favs, especially Drop Dead Legs and House of Pain. And obviously Hot for Teacher and Panama. Watch this video to appreciate them even more, including Jump.
I always thought this just had existing tracks on it and maybe some live. It’s cool that you have those memories of VH with your dad, btw. My dad was definitely not a VH fan but my son definitely is! Maybe the biggest thing we’ve bonded on.
It’s hard to make a bad Van Halen play list (but possible!). But what’s really cool is finding “New Old Stock” Van Halen that you didn’t know about.
Yea, well check out the photo on the description page.

I can’t afford $160k but maybe with a $3000 subsidy?
I was never active in those. But maybe we’re spirit animals or something.
I’m torn on this news. On the one side, I’m happy that America got this record back. But on the other wide, I’m disappointed that the title was taken from a V6 Camaro!
Chrysler had some striking designs in the 1990s. I’m still taken with how beautiful this car is today, my favorite of the LH sedans. Look at the delicate pillars and large greenhouse compared to today’s cars. Also the grill is so small compared to the angry mouths of today.

If you don’t listen to the radio (I really don’t) you could also unplug the antenna.
Welcome back, Elizabeth. And best of luck with the new ventures!
We had a rental Ford Taurus for a few days when it first came out. I drove it to school one day and kids were freaking out over it. That still cracks me up when I think of it now.
The Taurus was definitely inspiring when it first came out. Tough to picture that now but it’s true.
+, -, X, ÷ (One of these doesn’t belong)
Dammit! I’ve been thinking about buying a manual Accord Sport for over 10 years but I swear, I was just about to pull the trigger! Possibly in a couple months! Or maybe a year. 2 years?? If it were a really, REALLY good deal?
But those Autotrader cars won’t have a brand new clutch when you get them, so not quite the same. Some could even have the same clutch issue (now or near future), but just not identified.
I order off-menu when I hit DQ. Peanut butter crunch.
