I think it is a question of scale. Starting on big problems helps more people by on a larger scale whereas small problems help less people on a smaller scale. If your goal is to help women, full stop. Tackling big problems first is the best way to do so.

The problem is white women, who objectively have it pretty good, often drown out women of color and transgender women, who objectively have it way fucking worse.

Looks like the world's worst case of VD.

That actually WOULD be the perfect gift for someone to buy me. I have a few 'creatures' but my favourite is Roald Fawkes, the Pega-Fox. Here he is, all dressed up for xmas:

Australian and Sydneysider here! The CBD is pretty much in lockdown or has been evacuated (my Mum works in there, as so many friends).

YAY! It's that time of Sunday! PUZZLE TIMEEEE

Spicy, I am so sorry your dad died. A sudden loss is so difficult. My dad died after a lengthy illness. Looking back, it was sort of a gift to be able to say goodbyes and set things straight, leave nothing unsaid. You don't get that with a sudden death. It has to be such a shock for the whole family.

Fun game! I would wish for:

I am so sorry that your dad died. I empathize with what you're going through. Don't worry about being nice to the ex. You have enough to worry about, so just tell him to leave you alone. My mom died when I was five, and I made the mistake of letting my dad's feelings overshadow my own grieving process for over a

My dad died suddenly last Thursday. The funeral was this past Thursday, and now that that's behind me and my family, I feel like we have some closure and are trying to find the "new normal" for our lives.

Run. Do not walk. Go directly to the lease signing.

I cannot begin to understand the pain and anguish and unrelenting grief of losing a child. But then to have to cope with that on a public stage with strangers saying the asinine bullshit that is all over the media? I cannot fathom that. But to do it with this grace? That's simply amazing. I hope they can find peace

Dear sceptics and their ilk:

I can't even begin to understand the strength that these ladies have after they have lost so much, to do everything they are doing, hell to do anything at all. It's all just so god damned heartbreaking.

JK's name may not be alongside Whedon's, Kirkman's, G.R.R.M.'s or any of the other infamous literary mass murderers of our time... but when she wants to be? She's bloody ruthless.

"Damn you all to Hell!"

The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman (His Dark Materials book 2). I was genuinely destroyed by the Alamo Gulch scenes. The gut wrenching exchanges between Lee Scoresby and his dæmon Hester. The way the events built up… It still makes me tear up again just thinking about it.

Gandalf's death in Moria. I had to go back and re-read it a few times just to be sure. More shocking, I think, because I was twelve and it was my first encounter with the death of a major character. Since then I've become more used to the idea, so I think nothing will ever be quite so shocking as that first time.

Here's an accurate topographical map of my home state.
