Based on my limited experience, your brain is pretty good about differentiating between a ball flying at your head (duck and cover) and a ball flying at your ass (whip your hand around).

Is it just me, or are these (pitcher flails at line drive and snares it) not as impressive as most great fielding plays? I feel like this is just a lucky stab, whereas a diving catch my an outfielder involves MUCH more body control and route planning.
