Not meaning to start the typical internet shouting match (I swear!), but those weren’t bad moves, at all. The Detroit bailouts paid for themselves and were a *fraction* of what Trump is now handing out to corporate farmers as a result of his trade war. Cash For Clunkers was NOT an environmental move; It was an

One can do things “right” and still end up not as well-to-do financially as they’d wish. Fortune/luck/chance/opportunity plays a role in it.

People say “we are fortunate” because all the schooling and financial planning won’t mean anything if your hit by sudden an unexpected health issues, especially early in your career. Cancer bankrupts people in the US.

Please. He’s a politician. He was nominated for governor, ran, and was elected as a Republican. He was supported by the Ohio Republican party. All the activities in the article relate to his activities as the Republican governor of Ohio.

No, but it is like saying black people are bad, or women are bad.

Settle down. “Republicans are bad” ain’t exactly a hot take.

You voted for Trump, didn’t you?

No no no, I’m not saying Republicans are corrupt because Rhodes was, I’m saying Rhodes was a Republican BECAUSE he was corrupt. Republicanism and corruption go hand in hand, you see!

It’s totally relevant. Rhoades was a big business humper who was also corrupt with no regard for human life. He was a very republicany republican. Republican AF, it explains his entire career.

This is a silly comment. This article is relatively positive towards Rhodes, even while mentioning his abject corruption and role in the murder of 4 innocent students.  Also, he was a governor and a republican.  Those are the facts.

The real hero in this story is Wendy’s hamburgers. I bet those Honda executives really appreciated the efficiency of a square patty.

Did you read the account from the person who drove for three hours and LOST money? How is this person going to net more cash by spending more hours behind the wheel?

I agree with much of what you say. The problem is that if you let them set their own rate it will do the opposite and create a race to the bottom. Just look at the companies themself and you will see this. A driver can’t get away with charging what he needs to cover his expenses if there are 20 other drivers in the

$20 bucks for 3 hours is less than minimum wage.  That doesn’t sound great at all.

If that happens, just inform them that if the keys don’t resurface in the time it takes the police to get there then some grand theft auto charges will be getting filed. The keys magically resurface with this approach.

I really wish we could reset and make it so not every business has to operate at an ever increasing profit. They still turn a profit, it just isn’t a bigger one than it was before. HOW IS THIS BAD FROM A COMPANY SUSTAINABILITY STANDPOINT?
