I think it was WaPo’s site where someone made the same point — that fact checkers have consistently rated Clinton as far more honest. Someone replied and basically said this argument was invalid because fact checkers are biased. “They side with Clinton 3 out of every 4 times!!” Because that’s clearly a sign of bias

Interesting—did they give a reason for blocking the extension, or do you just work for one of those places that blocks everything but IE 7?

I hope you corrected your friend—perhaps s/he survived the Bush years, but 6,831 of her fellow Americans went to Iraq and Afghanistan and did not survive. And only God will ever know how many of those countries’ citizens died thanks to Dubya.

In case you haven’t noticed, Trump’s policies relating to poor brown people aren’t that great, either.

NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR DAMN EMAILS. STILL.

Me, just now: “Oh man, your parents live their entire lives in standard definition? Kinda sad but also a pretty good analogy I supp... Oh. California.”

But doesn’t having a meeting waste both your time and theirs? Or if they just wander over, what about the fact that it’ll take you 25 minutes to refocus on what you were doing before they interrupted you?

So if someone asks you for help or information, do you just ignore it under the assumption that they’ll track you down if they *really* want to?

“A loophole is an ambiguity or inadequacy in a system, such as a law or security, which can be used to circumvent or otherwise avoid the intent, implied or explicitly stated, of the system.”

I’m a commercial property manager and I’ll occasionally ask my interior finishes contractor to order something like this from the paint store. It’s called a “drawdown.” I’m not sure if a paint store like Sherwin Williams would do that for anyone off the street, but it doesn’t hurt to ask!

Point of order: I also live in the city, and have had puh-len-ty of shitty neighbors. They’re just a different flavor of shitty is all. If I had to put a finger on it, I’d say it’s kind of a “I don’t give a fuck about you” (city) vs. “I give way, way too many fucks about every little thing you do” (‘burb) dichotomy.

When dude said “cast iron can absorb flavors” I think most people would take this to mean “cast iron pans,” since that’s the topic of discussion, and consider the pan to be a system that includes not just the iron itself but also the fats used to season it, etc. The pedantry store called, they want their...oh, never

There are two ways to “use” a credit card: (1) make purchases and pay in full each month; (2) carry a balance month to month. #1 does indeed help your credit score; ae you sure lenders aren’t turned off by #2?

it sure beats having to give my SS# to utility provider and being told that I am required to pay a deposit

So if you have a dumbass user that enters a token number a bit late (due to correcting a typo)

In Windows 7 I used to kill the Explorer task when that would happen; it would restart on its own and fix the problem. Haven’t encountered it in 10 so I’m not sure if that’s helpful at all.

It's more affordable than you might think, and they get your house SO DAMN CLEAN.

The food is getting a lot better in certain parts of the midwest. (Columbus, OH comes to mind.) I can’t help you with the rest, particularly the college football part. (Columbus, OH comes to mind...)

Of course, I’ve been lucky enough to never have to carry a balance on my cards

it is cheaper to live with your parents because you are basically stealing from them to recoup your living expenses
