I recently prepped my parents' house for sale. We didn't invest too much money but I put fresh paint & carpet throughout, new cover plates on the switches & outlets, and updated the bathroom vanity/mirror/lighting. They'll definitely get their money back in what a seller is willing to offer, not to mention the expense

These are typically the same people that will argue with you that the not at all unusual event of the scanner price not matching the shelf tag is just an oopsy and not systemic corporate fraud.

I sound like an old fogie that can't stand change....Even for someone who was 27 the damn thing was confusing.

GPS saves neither time nor money compared to a driver who actually knows the city.

Perhaps they're not pumping them full of as many hormones?

They are not for gay (or any kind really) sex.

I think it's okay to be uncomfortable with nonchalance about extinguishing the potential for life. You can feel that way and still take the position that abortion should be legal in all circumstances.

I've definitely seen some comments from people incredulous at the idea that anyone might consider the decision to have an abortion a serious one. Folks are being attacked as "not really pro-choice" for taking the position that while abortion should be legal, they don't think it shouldn't be taken lightly.

I wouldn't kick either of the dudes outta bed, either.

You've made this point four times now. In the process, your commenting device of choice has used four times as much electricity!! If you care about anything alive, SHUT DOWN YOUR COMPUTER AND/OR PHONE AND/OR TABLET.

Climate change is not a joke, you know.

I've heard some Celiac folks say that on the flip side, the gluten-free "fad" has led to a much wider array of options for them.

I live in DC where these mechanisms have been the norm for years. You have no idea how lucky you are to have never gotten into the lobby to find only a handful of carts left, all of which have the doohickey tripped and so you've got to lift the whole cart up and bend over like an idiot just to get the latch to release

My grocery store is the same way. I nearly fainted one day when I arrived and realized that in response to demand, they'd brought in more of the small carts! Before it was probably 65/35 in favor of Godzilla but now it's at least half and half. I f**king love Harris Teeter.

Like Platypus Man said — Aldi is pretty much the only store that does this in the US.

Maybe because so many people are freaking out about GMOs these days for no good reason, and they sensed a marketing opportunity. Adding "GMO Free!!!1" isn't going to change my opinion of Cheerios but it sounds like it might change yours in their favor.

The only reason I can think of is that someone decided "Giotto's" looks & sounds more like "Joe's" than "Giuseppe's" — going for the cutesy over the accurate.

Other reason not to get semen in your eye: it fucking burns. Trust me.

There's a huge difference between "I'm too good to work here" and "I could be doing something more challenging."

what it comes down to is being a grown-up

This year, it's H1N1 that's hitting really hard. By that I mean most of the hospitalizations and deaths are among those age 18 to 64 — i.e., the healthiest among us. Fortunately H1N1 was included in this year's vaccine.
