That's pretty standard practice for both print media and online sites. Editors frequently write the headlines.

I'd be more inclined to drop $20 on this if it didn't make me feel like I'm taking a hearing test.

This is krass.

You gave it away with misspelling wear. Pretty good though.

I guess I didn't assume your question was as stupid as I now realize it to be. Obviously people who smoke don't see it as "gross" the way that you do. They definitely see it as unhealthy, but not "gross." I personally smoke a decent amount (maybe a pack on weekends, 5-10 during the week), and I don't find it gross.

I live in a house with a couple roommates and people smoke with some frequency in the basement and one of the bedrooms. If you walked in the front door you wouldn't smell a thing. No one is a habitual smoker, but tobacco gets smoked just about daily, mostly in combination with pot. I don't think the people jumping

Rob basically nailed it but, yeah, it's just like anything else that feels good and is bad for you in the long term. A lot of people have a hard time feeling consequences that exist far in the future as more pressing than immediate pleasure.

I was going to say basically the same thing. I don't think I've encountered anyone recently who habitually smokes cigarettes inside.

Or- I just noticed there was a post on Gizmodo about the Olympics and I figured I'd post something sarcastic in order to induce the sarcasm-challenged to write incoherent run-on sentence diatribes against me.

^Terrorist!!!!!

Welcome to Obama's America, where even our Olympic heroes have to use equipment produced by goddamn foreigners.

I would guess that a fairly large number of the plain-clothed attendees were Secret Service agents as well.

Wow.

I was going to write that the suspiciously high production value of this video has Hansel & Gretel's PR fingerprints all over it, but then I read the italicized note at the bottom of the article.

You're correct and no one else is.

MLK wasn't a pacifist in the sense that you're talking about. He was, however, a vocal opponent of our extremely militaristic culture and endless acts of aggression towards other countries.

Please show me the sources where you got this information.

Targeting civilians and collective punishment are also considered war crimes. Both are taking place in Syria and the evidence is incontrovertible.

I don't understand the distinction. How is indiscriminately dropping bombs or launching mortars or firing machine guns in urban areas (which is what both sides are doing), different from using another weapon that also results in civilian casualties? In fact, this particular weapon is less deadly than a bomb or bullet.
