Going 250MPH that many times in one session tells me that it is capable of much much more.

346 people died because they cut corners. I don’t think huge embarrassment covers it. All those involved should be held accountable and thrown in prison. 

Short term gain for long term disaster. It’s easy to enjoy a massive spike in profits if you start cutting corners so that your P/L statement looks great. But if the corners you’re cutting get you a reputation for making dangerous crap that kills people, well, that’s not a sustainably profitable scenario.

Does the world really need two A35s, two CLA35s, as well as a GLA35 and GLB35? Two hatchbacks, two small sedans, and two small suvs.. let alone the various 45 and 45 S models of the same cars.

Girding their loins to spend a shit ton of money in R&D to get an EV to market is the most likely answer.
