I hear you. And I'm rewatching Bunheads right now on Amazon Prime. I just rewatched the episode called the Astronaut and the Ballerina yesterday, and I had forgotten how amazing it is. There's an extended take of her arguing with brother (both irl and on the show) about their mother that's absolutely brilliant. The

Cheno is too old though. Honestly, I would have liked to see Rose Hemingway, but no one who isn't into theater would know who she is.

"Everyone who watched Bunheads," so... like a million people? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Bunheads (seriously, look through my post history), but those are exactly the kind of ratings they were trying to avoid. Sutton is incredible, but she just doesn't have the name recognition. Broadway folks might be the

Well, unfortunately we'll never know. NBC spent $9 million on the production, so they wanted a household name in the starring role. Pretty much the only way to test whether a spectacular nobody would get as many views would be to cast a spectacular nobody, and TV execs are notoriously risk averse. The conventional

Oh well, in exciting musical theater news, HBO airs their Stephen Sondheim documentary tonight at 9 pm! It's called Six By Sondheim, and it's an exploration of his life through interviews, focusing on six of his most famous songs. They have footage of past performances, plus some special new versions recorded just for

I'm sure they could have as well, but why would they, when they can cast Carrie Underwood and get two or three times as many views? The problem is there just aren't very many big names with stage musical experience. Anna Kendrick is really the only famous young actress I can think of with musical theater experience,

To be fair, it isn't exactly her fault. She shouldn't have been cast in that role, but the producers wanted someone who would inspire a lot of channel views (which they got), and Carrie Underwood got a big fat paycheck out of it. It's the same way I feel about Russell Crowe in Les Mis. He wasn't good, but I don't

I know, and I understand and agree that what he did was illegal because of child pornography laws. Again, my only disagreement was over the nature of coercion, as the original comment from usedtobesheabablv seemed to indicate that (s)he thinks manipulating teenage need for acceptance is coercion, and it isn't.

Right, but it's the possession of child porn that's actually illegal. I was just pointing out that the relationship itself isn't illegal, because there was no coercion, as the relationship was consensual. Usertobesheababylv seems to think that manipulating teenage need for acceptance is coercion, and, legally, it

This is true, but it's impossible to legislate. It's easy to say if someone can't consent, then sexual stuff is illegal (ie they're passed out drunk, drugged, sleeping, whatever), but teenage insecurity isn't a legally recognized and protected impairment of judgement. It's just too hard to make a sweeping declaration.

Haha, on a similar note, whenever I go to the weddings of my childhood friends (whose parents are all very conservative Christians, even though their children, like me, have strayed), their parents will ask me when I'm getting married, and I respond with "As soon as it's legalized in Georgia!" The good news is that on

"Is it bad to wish that an asshole dies? Because, if it is, then I don't want to be good." How is that not wishing death on someone?

I'm not saying you shouldn't disagree with his policies! I disagree with his policies. I'm saying wishing death on him is reprehensible. If we're going to continue holding the GOP accountable for the offensive bullshit they say, we need to hold ourselves accountable as well. Wishing death on someone is over the line,

Really? You wish someone would die because they have different political opinions than you? You're no better than those scum of the earth people who say women they don't like should get raped. No one would defend those lowlifes on this website, and no one should defend death wishes against a politician either, no

I'm obviously not saying you should feel obligated to buy your kid an Xbox, but the Xbox and the Wii are completely different, so having one doesn't really impact whether or not you should get the other. Saying someone doesn't need an Xbox because they already have a Wii is like saying someone doesn't need dress shoes

It's not just action movies though. It's a weird paradox, because a lot of the movies that are most popular with women feature multiple men competing over a woman (the traditional rom com formula). People just haven't really bothered straying from the formula, because it keeps on working well.

While you are correct this is what they should have done, the Beastie Boys would have refused, because they won't allow any of their music to be used to advertise for any products. That being said, the company had no right to use the music without their permission, especially since they know they wouldn't have gotten

Haha! Tell him I'm the same way! Everyone always complains that I don't drive fast enough. I've just never understood what the huge hurry is. When people cut me off or drive super aggressively, I always wonder what they have in their lives that's so exciting it's worth driving like that shave a few minutes off their

Exactly! I stream myself playing video games, and my friends watch and we make jokes and talk about the game, and a good time is had by all. I love the new PS4 quick sharing, because streaming from last generation consoles was a lot more difficult.

Idk if I can join a website called TarValon.net though. Everyone knows those witches are a bunch of darkfriends. ;-)
