FRLG, HGSS, & ORAS were all remakes. USUM are more akin to Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum. So the being basically the same game was pretty standard.

There was an interview with the Japanese magazine Famitsu that came out this morning, that presumably took place after the Treehouse, but before the internet, ahem, shitstorm, fully hit. In it they say no decision has been made regarding methods to bring those Pokemon to the Switch, be it patching or otherwise.

I, personally, don’t understand the blowback on USUSM. I think a lot of people took that Pokemon Stars rumor as gospel. And honestly if they had just released ONE remaster game nobody would’ve blinked because that’s pretty standard for Pokemon.

I interpreted the balance comments as being about how they decided which Pokemon to include once they made the decision, but I could be wrong.

And I think you may need to raise your expectations. They aren’t just going to soft-delete Pokemon from existence and never have them appear again.

What they said was, in order to get the game out in time, they’re only putting the Pokemon in the Galar region Pokedex in the game. Therefore you will only be able to transfer those Pokemon from Home to SwSh. They also said they’d give more details in interviews, which is 90% of what they’ll be doing the next few…

That is true, but what Mr. Masuda DID say was that he looks forward to talking about it more in interviews. So I’m, personally, just waiting for those interviews to start getting published over the next few days.
