    I lol'd. Well done, sir.

Are they ALL trying to look like Bernie now?

The Obama auto show incident sounds like the typical amateur hour that is replayed over and over again. After three years I'd expect them to start to get things right. There have been so many gaffes by staffers in the White House that it has needlessly embarrassed our country and caused furor like this. The bottom

Total crack pipe. That poor Corvette is hopelessly messed up. Everything about it is in poor taste. From the wheels, paint, interior, body work to the ride height. What a shame, what a shame.

How do you think your solar panels were manufactured and delivered to market? They also have a working life of 10 to 15 years then they must be replaced. Most electricity is generated via fossil fuels. That isn't any better for the environment than burning it in a car (it's only better for a local, urban environment

My eyes just popped out. That is stunning. You da man, Hardibro.

Good stuff and well done. Now everyone get out there and buy some cheap cars and go FAST!

Which part? You are saying that the Japanese have no say or influence in running a North American division? That they don't buy parts from preferred Japanese suppliers. That they don't build cars in Japan and ship them over?

My issue with foreign cars is the company itself, not where it's built. All the profits go back to Japan or Korea, etc and prop up their economy. Also, I don't identify with most foreign car company mindsets (although I will say that Hyundai is seriously peaking my interest).

I enjoy the morning shift so that is a big positive. Like I said back when the change occurred everyone will get used to the new look after a bit of complaining and things will go on. The technical glitches are annoying but I hope those aren't systemic (even though they have been with us for a very long time). Also,

The simple fact that Electric power is NOT inexhaustible. In fact it must be generated and that it is usually done so from fossil fuels. So how is that inexhaustible? There are plenty of technological obstacles yet to overcome such as the ability to operate in temperature extremes, recharge times, safety concerns

Nice job. You have done well so enjoy your kudos. That is a well deserved COTD.

I'm talking flywheel not rear wheel but still, the cam just needs to be big enough. Old style small blocks can make 450-500 easily so 400 from a stock block isn't difficult. How big of a cam did your friend go with? He probably kept it conservative for the computer's sake. You need some serious duration and overlap to

The only time I'd refer to a Suburban as a fleet vehicle would be when talking about the purchasing choices of Texans.

Late 80's early 90's C4 Corvette for between $4K and $6K, cam and heads will get you to 400hp pretty easy. I'd say that's a bargain. You have to look at these deals according to their hot rodding potential more than just the initial purchase price. Cheap and easy performance mods are a deal maker.

I'm fine with different approaches (and enjoy them as well) but I also believe that beauty is a design requirement. I try to take into account how my designs look rather than use a cop out like "it doesn't matter how it looks if it's fast".

You're the first person I've met that does. I won't deride your opinion since everyone has their own tastes. I think that point little nose is pretty strange looking.

I don't think the nose on the McLaren is all that bad. Caterham is far worse. I DO think the tiny rear wing is silly looking but we seem to be stuck with that for the time being. Also, what's not to like about a chrome car?

Most excellent comment and thanks for the instruction! I may need that once my IPO hits or I win the lottery (I'm playing all the odds).

Reverse - Pulitzer prize winner doesn't know crap about engineering and/or development regarding electric cars when he makes a statement like "the technological obstacle is all but overcome". Additionally, to assert that electricity is free, limitless and not tied to petroleum is beyond inane.
