Autocrosser here. Definitely a good time, especially if your region chapter is cool. The rocky mountain region is pretty sweet IMHO. Since it's winter series, it only costs $20/event for SCCA members, so that's pretty hard to beat, for an afternoon of hoonage. We usually get 5-6 runs too, which is always nice.

The difference here is an S2000 could be reasonably attainable by someone who can afford a Miata, it's just on the expensive end of affordable.

The S2000 is a Miata on acid. Affordable, well built and stupidly fast. Honda should reconsider making a new one, because there's a huge market for it.

+1. Almost a decade of ownership, and it's still the one car that I won't get rid of. I have a MS3 daily to replace it...but it's not replaced, and I look forward to driving it every time.
