If you run out of shaving cream but you have hair conditioner you can use that instead. It softens the hair and provides some lubrication.

I think its "Gun Ready" but it's being clipped. The howitzers and 40mms are feed by loaders in the back of the aircraft and fired by operators in at central fire control station. It sounds like its loaders talking to the gunners.

Personally I like my Scottevest Expedition. Maybe not designed for all day in the 30's by itself but works well with a good flannel/fleece. Plus. it acts as my go bag. nothing else to carry.

I've thought about using a live usb/dvd setup in the past, but it seems to me that anywhere I would want to use it; library, coffee shop, etc., would have their systems set to not allow booting from usb/dvd.

The space program was in such a rush at the time that the Saturn V rocket was never tested in an "all up" configuration before the first manned launch. Those things worked right the first time using just slide rules and know how. That's some impressive engineering.

That whisk doesn't look like it would be hard to duplicate using a 3D printer and a few strands of ABS or PLA, can't really vouch for it being "food safe" though.
