I’ve always liked this generation of Scania trucks. Boxy, but very cleanly styled.

Modern A-pillars; crap for visibility, great for.. whatever the fuck physics are allowing this to happen.

the Quattro first gen model especially.

Except the iABS Mk1 BMW motorcycle system which was so reviled there’s a permanent thread on adventurerider detailing how to remove it.

F800GS and R1200R owner here, I ride both regularly in city but only the R1200 has ABS and ASC. I ended up finding the F800 is actually much more predictable in hard braking than the R1200, especially since the R1200 has a linked brakes system that automatically jams on the rear brakes when it senses the front brakes

“building three motorcycles with decidedly different purposes around the same architecture seems inherently limiting from an engineering standpoint...”

If it makes you feel any better, when I collected my 318ti I had to google how to get reverse in a Tesco car park. It really is a strange lockout mechanism, you need to basically pound it in there with enough strength to feel like you’re gonner break the shifter.

Straight pipes save lives

I have never needed anything as bad in my life as I need a 6 series with a V12.

I have several questions

It’s all fun and games until you get Gawker’d.

What the f-. As a Brit I always thought car insurance was cheaper in America than in the UK, but reading through this thread I suddenly feel better about paying £400/year ($570/year) to insure my BMW E36 in South London. (29, no points on my license or accidents)

I’ve never had a car and not wished it had a sixth gear, especially my current E36. For me perfection is having five close ratio gears for sporty driving, then cruising at 80mph at 2,500rpm using 6th as basically an overdrive.

We still allow drum brakes, yes.

Alternatively, you can get rid of a having a belt or a chain and use gears to drive the cams. The only truly maintenance free option currently available.

What I don’t understand is why none of the companies approached has tried a cabover style vehicle? Seems like a good way to maximise interior volume against exterior size, rather than the traditional way with all the space over the hood wasted. Can’t be aerodynamics reasons because... well, look at the competitors so

Worse than that, the person has to buy insurance, and that insurance only covers them to drive one nominated car. I pay £400 a year just to drive my BMW, but that doesn’t cover me to drive (for example) my housemate’s Honda.

Will ini recall them all and fit new taillights if Scotland gets a second referendum? :P

Now playing

9/10 but they lose top rank for not playing this the whole time
