We have “seasonal mice” that show up for winter time in our attic and then when it gets hot leave for cooler climes. Every year for 7 years this has happened. Snap traps caught one the first year and never any again. I used the 5 gallon bucket last year and moved 4 of them 10 miles away, unhurt:
Birds cannot sense heat or spiciness due to the lack of membranes in their mouth. Squirrels can. Dust the birdseed with Cayenne pepper and sit back and enjoy!
This instructable was originally done in 2013 and has been recently updated. I would suggest looking at motionEyeOS (https://github.com/ccrisan/motion…
So this thing shuts like a trap when the bed begins to shake? Talk about a way to put a dampner on a wild night of sex!
LED’s they are using are about 1/4th the power required in traditional settings so I don’t think they are using that much energy. I am surprised they haven’t put panels on the roof to provide a zero sum loss environment.
If you are looking for something unique you can add a .28mil copper top to that table for about $200.
Excellent article! I would recommend the Bank of America travel card too as it has no fees, DOES have a chip (something American banks have been REALLY slow to adopt) and can be used at ATM's all over the world for no fee. No exchange fees either. Plus you get points that you can apply to the trip after you get home…
The "Rock Beach" at Washington Oaks state park. A beautiful sand beach with huge coquina rocks at one end to climb on and explore.
I stumbled across this when I was buildign my XBMC. It is not mine, but it seems to be updated a lot and works well: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/cc…
Our company has been working with the 3 letter agencies for the last 5 years to develop a stable, long term (i.e. 50+ years) storage medium. Laser etched manufactured minerals is the only thing so far that fits the bill. The down side? You will not be able to afford one of the lasers, or the media unless you are a…
I worked for a company in Lake Mary named F4W that would go a couple of weeks, then pay. Skip another one, then pay. The owner claimed that he saved $40k-$60k a year and if the employees did not like it they could go elsewhere. I did.
I have given this same advice to my students (college-about to graduate with Bachelors) for years. The best way to write a resume is to sit down, turn on some good music, drink a beer or three and close your eyes. Imagine the girl of your dreams just walked up to you in a nice dining establishment and asked "so, what…
I had almost the exact same situation. I left a company to take a raise in both position and salary at another company, but I had the job lined up BEFORE I put in my resignation (which is the right way to do it) that way you don't worry about the references. Or, just tell them you are going on a spiritual quest and…

If you need multi-TB solutions and LIKE the DIY, take a look at the Backblaze Storage Pod. They open sourced the design, the parts are all COTS and the OS is Debian so you can customize to your hearts content. I built one for our (large) extended family to use and while it was not cheap, it sure does the job well!
Backblaze storage pods are what we use at the college of engineering at USF. 115TB of raided goodness for under 10k!
When we leave for vacation we usually put a load of garbage in the garbage can, lift the bag and then put the jewelry under it and put it back in the can. In 2 weeks time that garbage smells so bad NO ONE is going to spend time anywhere near it or in the house!
