Anyone that takes a job knows that there is always a chance of losing their job. That’s how it goes in America. 

Why would they want some form of revenge? My company has done tons of Re-orgs and RIFs all while making billions per year. It sucks for sure, but I don’t let it effect my job. Nor do I want blood or anything. Corporate America is terrible. But I gotta put food on my family’s table.
