Personal opinion: anybody who pays up-front for a piece of software which has no contractually obligated deliverables or timeframes, is a sucker.

I think the idea here is that full Level 5 autonomy is worth, say, $20,000 to a buyer. By taking a risk that you’re paying for something that may not pan out, or by paying for it before it’s finished, you get a discount.

The whole concept that FSD is cheaper now if you pre-order it than it will be as the technology matures is bonkers. No other technology follows that path. Technology gets cheaper as it matures. 

Because apart from the electrical issues from disconnecting under power, with unlocked plugs you’d get youths going around unplugging people’s cars because it’s funny and idiots uplugging other cars to charge their own.

Locking plug = So people don’t go around unplugging cars “just for lols”, or to plug in their own.

Bad things apparently happen if you disconnect DC charging while it is still going. I’ve had someone charging before me disconnect before stopping the charge, and it disabled the DC fast charger, which then required maintenance.  This shouldn’t happen, but can’t trust people either.
