I’m also resisting the idea of getting another 20 mpg (or worse) vehicle.

With Toyota/Lexus’ inventory situation being horrible, I’ve been branching out for options for a larger SUV. In my area GC’s are being discounted again, which helps tamp down the shockingly high MSRP (I was looking at an Overland, I don’t need the Summit “stuff”).
I like the way these look, but getting excited for a 1977 4-cylinder with an automatic is tough to do. Especially not $20k excited.
The point of this being posted here is in the first sentence.
Yes, this article makes it seem like the woman was imprisoned on the cruise ship.
The RAV4 Prime is 2 years past launch and still impossible to buy without waiting for months and/or a markup. Yep, PHEVs are apparently a terrible idea. The Prius Prime will likely be the same “ghost” on dealer lots unless someone gets too greedy with the markup.
At least it doesn’t say they owe money on it. Those are always interesting. 15 year old exotic car, broken transmission, need X,XXX to pay off the bank note.
Concur with many of these but no one has mentioned the death of colors outside of grayscale and maybe a red in the lineup. Instead of “concrete gray” or whatever that is, give me a blue, green, or dark red. Those used to be pretty standard colors.
The piano black ones are arguably worse. Not just the wheel wells get that treatment too. The WRX does a particularly bad job of “wearing” the plastic trim though. Two more cars I like on paper but am disappointed when I remind myself what they look like.
It is infuriating. There is no need for 20" wheels on a minivan. All it does it make it more expensive to replace rubber, and more likely you bend a rim someday.
Somehow between celebrities driving “murdered out” customized luxury cars 15 years ago and douche 19 year olds using plasti-dip to try and achieve the same look ever since then on their hoopties, OEMs decided they should keep rolling out black wheels for some reason.
Isn’t the Bolt superior to these on paper?
Since the Toyota Sienna is apparently like buying a rare exotic these days, I’ve checked out Odyssey and Pilot inventory and it seems pretty good. Think I even saw (small) discounts advertised.
Or a GM app that runs on your Apple or Android phone. Couldn’t they still harvest data that way too? Seems like they are taking the rougher road in pursuit of their own walled garden where you have to pay to get the same features you can probably get on your phone today.
While I don’t want to be reliant on a dealer for anything more than I need to be, I’d be more optimistic about an approach like this if you could actually upgrade the hardware at some point.
Local observations from driving around and some online browsing for a car:
Looks like a good deal. Closest comparison I could find is a 2013 with 10k miles for $43k.
Well spell check apparently wasn’t available for this piece. So use of their/they’re is next level stuff.
In my old neighborhood, the guy with the brand new Mercedes SUV was also keeping it plated in a state they clearly did not live in (it was garaged here every night) to likely avoid personal property tax on it.
Yeah, this will replace a car that is 11 years old. I don’t think I want to be driving a car that gets 22 mpg in 11 years.
