Pretty sure my Mom’s Pathfinder of this era had a Bose stereo, leather, heated seats, sunroof, maybe even fake wood trim.

I’ll admit it looks surprisingly well sorted for a vehicle on its 5th owner in 17 years.
Until there is better data on battery life, I can’t imagine spending much on a used EV unless it is only 1-2 years old. Higher mileage, more years on the battery, it better be under $10k. If the battery dies, you don’t feel too bad about tossing it, since a battery exchange is likely to be prohibitively expensive.
If it ever was a correct response, “Cobra under the seat” is probably the time to let that one rip.
Yeah the uniform he is looking for is a Von Dutch hat with an Ed Hardy shirt.
Under $40k, enough electric juice to run lots of errands, 50+ mpg when I’m running on petrol, refuel in 5 minutes on a road trip.
Lightning gets over $100k, so imagine this will follow it right past six figures too.
Don’t they basically do that for RVs?
I usually seem them “aggressively” go over a curb when they might have to wait behind someone to get into a turn lane. Good thing you got the Rubicon with mudder tires and a lift kit!
I’ve always wondered if the day will come where brands like M-B stops nickel and diming customers for features.
Yeah, I see the same thing. I don’t get it. I find talking through my car’s microphone and speakers to be superior to trying to mess with the actual phone while driving. Even if it weren’t “illegal”, I’d still use my car’s system.
Don’t forget the Wrangler Rubicon with big tires that would be lucky to roll over grass “off road” once a month.
Especially on a car that starts at $170k. The picture on their website looks far better, and is integrated into the grill, so maybe it isn’t so bad in person.
Seems to be doing a lot of good in my area. I took the bus to commute for a while. It was absolutely shocking how many people had their phones right in front of them while going 70 in a 55. It was dark, so you could see the light shining from the phone in their hands as they multi-tasked. Phones not off to the side…
I was pulled over once for talking on my phone.
I generally have taken the same view. I need to replace my primary vehicle first, but it is tempting to take advantage of these inexpensive EVs like the Bolt after $7500 off for a commuter car.
I had a Kenwood head unit 20 years ago. Geeze 20 years, that can’t be right.
That is arguably the worst part. Want to force me into your ecosystem? Well then update the damn thing. Make it so we can update the hardware in 5 years when you’d likely have updated any other piece of tech and run the latest OS.
I think it is simpler than that. They want to sell you services. They want the data you create today for Apple or Google so they can sell it. Hell, they probably want to put their ads on the screen instead of letting whatever app you are mirroring on the phone show you ads.
There is just something that isn’t attractive about these, with our without “wood”. They just look like they are “lumbering” everywhere they go.
