Well I’d prefer to buy a Japanese car, but I don’t want to spend $70k on a Lexus that I have to “settle” for because it is all I can get.

It seems more and more likely that for my next car, I’m going to have to target only brands that allow for a real factory order. Not Toyota’s “get on a dealer’s list and they’ll see if we can get an allocation for you”....because everyone trusts dealers to follow through on something.

I certainly like my proximity key, just throwing the keys in my pocket, grabbing the door handle and hitting the Start button is something you get used to.

27 years old, 25k miles. So less than 1,000 miles a year. Even if gas is $10/gal, and it gets 10 mpg (to make it easy), that is about $925 a year.

Seems reasonable to me. Looks to be in nice shape (private collection in Orange County is probably a good thing).

Marlow Heights, MD is in Prince Georges County which is majority Black and Hispanic is #2.

But putting a beater in the garage at the expense of a “non-beater” is not ideal.

Agree, wake me up when the markups stop. And who the hell is paying $55-60k for these things? That is what I’ve seen Primes listed for.

I’ll admit to enjoying Taco Bell every now and then, but it is probably the last place I’d go when traveling.

Was that before everything was computerized? Because today I think you just put in the VIN into a computer and it will tell you “GR Corolla” “Turbo/AWD/etc.”

Is the M2 going to be available at MSRP?

There are some cars I’d be hesitant to buy used because of how abused they may have been by the first owner. This is going to be one of those cars.

I was going to put “without dealer bullshit”, so same idea.

And yet they’ve managed to sell a ton of them for decades.

I can’t imagine there are a lot of stand alone Lincoln dealers. Pretty sure any Lincoln dealer I’ve seen in my area is a Ford/Lincoln lot. Guess Ford really wants to get rid of these guys, because demanding “separate” investments seems silly.

I really like it.  No idea if it is a good price or not, but doesn’t seem unreasonable for a well sorted “classic” car.

Tom - One thing I’ve started to notice is small print saying the dealer won’t sell to anyone out of state. In my metro area, I could theoretically buy from two states without much effort. Are you seeing more of that in your work?

Is the Jaguar F-Type a real “GT” car? I always saw them as being a bit more of a punishing sports car. I love them, but not sure if it is what the OP wants.

Maybe my information is wrong, but I believe car carriers are usually a “better” driving job and attract more experienced drivers.  Rookies aren’t going to be hauling a load of $120k Hummer SUVs.

I’d say the same thing about a new car, but then you see the used car prices. Do I want to spend $60k on a new car, or $50k on a 5 year old car with 80k miles?  Maybe that is a little exaggerated. The “Just drove off the lot 25% discount” doesn’t exist anymore.
