Based on my adventures on I-95 in the south over the last week, the number of pickup trucks driving around like they were in a Ferrari (including dually trucks) probably tracks with the demand for the Escalade V. Frankly I am surprised it took this long for them to come out with a grossly overpowered Escalade.

It kind of comes with the territory here. I guess you could buy a Corvette instead and get similar performance without as many headaches, although a $38k Corvette doesn’t buy what it used to. Camaro SS 1LE or a Mustang GT500 would certainly deliver fun, but if you are shopping a Maserati you probably want the looks

How does “supply chain” significantly impact a company that buys and sells used cars?

$150k for a Supra, someone else can have fun with that.  Or likely not have fun with it because they won’t drive it.

Since it is an EA game, do I have to assemble an “ultimate car” of parts requiring $500 in micro-transactions in order to be competitive?

I like hatchbacks, so I remember checking out the Caliber at an autoshow. Holy shit what a cheap interior. I have storage bins in my basement that feel nicer than the touch points in that car.

Looks like they moved it back to Germany for this generation.

C.C. DeVille is probably one of the better guitarists of the era.

So $3 an hour (with probably no benefits) instead of $30 for UAW (still think they have good benefits), still sells for $60k, how many vacation homes for GM executives has that situation paid for?

I also saw a Rivian over the weekend.

I use Twitter just to get some “news” from certain sources. I don’t follow people I know, or interact with anyone except for a Verizon customer service account once.

To be fair here, Lexus offers the RX in Nori Green Pearl which is a pretty great color.

This is really the holy grail for any business these days. Get people to keep paying you for stuff. So no surprise the car manufacturers want in.

Right.  I’m sure a large majority of people surveyed would say they don’t want to pay more than MSRP for a car, but here they are, buying cars for more than MSRP.

In a local sub-Reddit where a decent place to buy a car came up, someone posted a very similar story from a Toyota dealer where they tried to tack on a fee separate from the destination charge. The dealership claims to not be selling above MSRP, but apparently is still trying to fool people into overpaying.

From what I’ve been reading, we’re still negotiating. It is just to avoid dealer markup and bullshit add-ons like paint protection for $3k. Nothing new here, just the bar moved because the dealer has more leverage.

This “custom car shop” isn’t a place that specializes in coal rolling brodozers is it?  I mean if so, the boycott probably won’t be very effective.

Usually courier services.  Lots of highway miles.

I’m surprised no one else has gone for the rear window.  Especially in pickups.  I see those Tundras rolling around and just think it is a cool feature.

I got air when the HVAC was “off” with my 2000 Civic too
